Really dumb questions.....

I was flipping through a pamphlet I forgot the dr gave me when we went in for my 6 week appt. The 2nd tri checklist says to tour the birthing facility at the hospital. Do you just call the hospital to set this up? My dr didn't mention it at my 14 week checkup....

Also says to register for birthing classes, breast feeding classes, etc. again do I just call the hospital? Or do I call my dr and find out who to call? I feel like I'm going to my first day of college, not sure where to go or who to ask! Lol

Not dumb questions! There's so much info given at the very first appointments and, as we know, pregnancy flies by - all of the sudden it feels like we're playing catch up!

For us and our hospital, you can look up classes (breastfeeding, birthing, infant care, etc.) and the hospital tours on the website and then sign up through the website, as well. Does your hospital website have those options? If not, I'd just call the hospital - I'm sure someone there will be able to help you get everything scheduled. :)

Check your hospital or birthing center's website for classes/tours....they are usually scheduled every week...and there are usually fees for classes while the tour may be free.

We did our birthing classes outside of the hospital provided ones (we were looking for a more specific birthing class -- hypnobirthing). But we will be doing CPR & Breastfeeding classes through the hosptial provided classes. All located on thier website. We also have to schedule a tour.

I am a little far behind everything... The only thing I have actually accomplished so far is our birth classes :/ We have not selected a pediatrician or preregistered either @ MNM :(

I am super lucky on the pediatrician front. The PA that I see for everyday medical stuff specialized in a pediatric program. I already trust her and we communicate well. I just met with her last week to tell her I am pregnant and find out when the first visits with the baby will happen!

The hospital birthing classes are only offered for Lamaze so we will be doing classes elsewhere for Bradley Method....the hospital is 5 mins away so that would have been sooooo convenient.

Laurie, I'd register now. If you even have a false alarm that is stressful enough and you don't want to mentally kick yourself for having to deal with registration while you are worried about other things! =)
