Whats everyone up too?
I went back for another sono to finish up my 20w sonogram and everything came back great :) my next appt is in 3 weeks and I have to do my 1 hour glucose test that day (I had GD last time so big deal for me) other than that nothing really exciting. Any type of design as sorta stalled when it comes to the nursery.
In other news, Alexis started Dance and Swim class 2 weeks ago..... she amazes me so much :) :( cant believe she grew up so fast!
@clips - you are moving right along!! How excited that Alexis is dancing and swimming! Crazy how time flies!
I am about to be 11 weeks & starting to feel much better than I have been in the past few weeks. I feel like its all really 'REAL' to me now - that I am pregnant and going to be a mom in 6 months! Its crazy... My husband feels the same. Its like it just clicked for both of us.
I had a quick ultrasound last Wednesday where our sweet little one was waving at us with a heart beat of 160bpm! I instantly felt like it was a girl, like she was doing a pagent wave or something, lol. Doc said everything looked great with me & the baby & that my fear of having a m/c are now just 1%! I go in for my NT Ultrasound on March 7th. I have a feeling everything will pick up speed from now on! Yay!
We are moving next weekend, so I have been packing, sleeping, eating, packing, working, sleeping... in that order. I am soooo ready to be moved in. We are moving just 10miles away, so nothing much will change, except we will no longer be 2min from the hospital & my commute to work sucks :(
Other than that, everyday is something new with my changing body :)
@CM Good luck with you NT scan, it's gonna be amazing!
I'm 32 weeks now and feeling great! Sorta, I have a slight cold but otherwise I'm feeling pretty good :)
Things are really kicking into high gear though. I forgot to mention that DH and I took our child preparation class last month which was awesome. (If there are any NYC mommas lurking, I highly highly recommend Tribeca Parenting.) I also took my first breastfeeding class which was extremely informative and now I have a lactation consultant at hand after baby arrives.
The nursery is coming along. We purchased the changing pad but I'm still on the hunt for a nice glider w ottomon for under $400.
I've also finished purchasing my cloth diapering stash (under $400!) and quite proud of myself for not going overboard with it. BUt now I'm researching babywearing and have entereed into another dark under world. I already have a ring sling, woven wrap and a mei tai on the way (yikes!).
Sheesh, when they say there is so much to do before baby arrives, they really mean there is so much to BUY before baby arrives!
Thanks Clips, I'm glad you think that way : ) But my family and friends think I'm a bit crazy. Is it not normal to do all these things like take classes or research every single item for baby? I would think every FTM would do that. Oh well, I like being prepared and doing a lot of research. Was like that with my wedding, which is why I became obssessed with PW ; )
yeah I have my fingered for you!
@clips - good luck with the glucose test! hope it's better for you this time around!
@mar - don't rush it!! we are still closer to 7 months than 6!! I need that 3 wks to get everything done that will need to be done!
@DMN - I am with you on the research! I think the drs. all hate me b/c I research everything they are going to tell me too lol. And I have been keeping a wishlist on amazon of things I have vetted and will (hopefully) eventually add to a registry. My husband thinks I am insane - but he knew what he was getting into when he married me!
AFM - I am 11 wks as of yesterday and this past week has been the worst yet! I normally have only a few hours a day of MS, but this week it has been constant! Plus I have been dizzy and getting headaches, for which nothing I am allowed to take can help. In 1/2 hr I am heading my niece's 4th bday party, which should be a sheer nightmare given how I am feeling! On the plus side, I was officially sworn in as an attorney this week on Thursday :) I felt awful the whole ceremony and needed to really focus on what I was supposed to repeat as I was being sworn in, but they kept it brief and for that I am grateful! My job start date has been delayed, so it looks like I will actually be in NY for a while longer, which means I can get my NT Scan done, so that is nice (with insurance change and state to state move, I wasn't going to be able to do it before). So I have appt w/ OB on Thursday and NT scan on 3/5! Excited and nervous, but that is typically how I am about everything lol! What's great is that the place we will go to gives us a CD of images from the scan to take with us, so I am really looking forward to that! And, with any luck, OB will bust out his doppler this week so I can HEAR the HB for the first time - too bad DH will be in NYC for that one, but I won't turn down the chance if offered!
Hope all the rest of you ladies are doing well! Looking forward to your updates!
Wow, so much is going on for everyone right now!
I'm apparently one of the worst FTM because I don't really research anything haha. If I have a question about something I usually ask you girls or find out from a friend or family member. It gets to be a little info overload to me and sometimes I feel more confused than when I started haha. Maybe I'm lazy....
I'm at 30 weeks right now and I'm starting to notice my feet look a little swollen. We were at my DH's grandma's surprise party on Saturday and I looked down and was like, whoa....little meat boats I'm walking on right now. I felt bad because everyone at the party is like "is the baby moving???" and if I'm in a room with a lot of activity and noise our LO doesn't move at all, it's like he/she is listening and trying to catch what everyone is saying (which makes me think I'm totally having a girl....) and as soon as it gets quiet and I relax he/she becomes a wild animal. But aside from my platelet issue, I'm feeling good. I have pains in my stomach a lot and that one spot that always goes numb and gets sore but other than that we're doing good.
DH and his Dad almost have our nursery closet done and then it's painting and we splurged on new hardwood floor for in there. The carpet was just dingy and I wasn't feeling it haha. So we have all of that to get done here soon and hopefully have ready before the LO arrives.
22 weeks today! Just had my anatomy scan on Thursday and I didn't pee my pants :) haha it was so nice to see my little boy again, oh and he is for sure a boy and is looking healthy ;D
I'm feeling pretty good but sleeping is getting very difficult. And I know it's only downhill from here! I'm just enjoying the second trimester while it lasts :) I'm also starting to research baby items for when we register. I'm pretty sure we have our stroller/carseat combo picked out and I found a crib that I like. It's very time consuming but it's worth it to check reviews on that stuff! Other than that, not much else going on.
I'm so glad to hear you all are doing well too! So excited that we're getting closer to meeting all of our PW babies :)
Wow lots going on is right! Glad to hear everyone is doing well and enjoying this process as am I!
For me, I'm feeling pretty great. I've been walking and stretching. I got some much needed maternity clothes on Sunday and made my first baby purchase. It was too perfect to pass up, but if we have a boy I'll have to gift it to someone having a girl. lol My next OB visit is the 6th and the a/s is torturously slow approaching on 3/25.
I've been doing research as well and pre-ordered the baby bargains book to read before we register. It does tend to get to be info overload but luckily I have plenty of women to turn to besides you guys for questions and advice! :) DH is getting more excited by the week, and really wants to feel our cupcake move. He's been so great through the process so far. :)
So many exciting things going on with all of you Mama's!
I am almost 37w (so close!) and things seem to be slowly coming together! DH is almost done putting the floor in the nursery (yes, we totally procrastinated!) and then he'll paint and the furniture can go in.
I finished packing our hospital bag last night. I couldn't decide on a going home outfit so I packed 4. :) Each passing day I seem to get more nervous about labor and bringing her home! I feel like there is so much I don't know and I keep reminding myself that millions of people have done this before me- we will be okay....
