When did you decorate the nursery?

Hi mommas! Happy Wednesday!

Just wondering when you all plan to start decorating (or when you started decorating, if you've already had your little bean) the nursery? I'll be 20 weeks this weekend and I feel like it's still a little too early, even though I know what we're having. I have a ton of ideas but just don't know where to start. Wondering what everyone else did/plans to do!

LO is 4 months and her room still isn't done LOL

We just got her crib this past weekend. Shes sleeping in our room so we never felt any rush but now that her stuff is piling up I'd like to get her into her own space.

I was due february 4...i think he painted her room thanksgiving weekend...we did a little every weekend....we already had all of her furniture, so he started assembling after the room was painted. I wanted everything done and ready for her even thou she slept in our room until a month ago. It was still nice having a completed nursery for photos and to change her and nurse her in.

I am 30wks and we just put the crib together and started collecting furniture this past weekend. We wanted to paint and stuff first, which we finished last week also. We want to have everything done and finished before he gets here, since I know that decorating will most likely be at the bottom of my priority list once I have a baby strapped to my back :) We arent planning on having him actually use the nursery until he is about 4-6 months though, since he will be in our room.  Its a good idea to get things taken care of with the nursery before you get too tired or too big though. Its tough to work all day and then come home and want to be crafty and hang stuff. Also, I was helping my DH assemble the crib last weekend & my belly was totally in the way :) I will have it all done by the end of this month (pictures hung, and all)!

We did ours a little at a time as well. In fact, that would be my biggest piece of advice for anyone who has big plans for their nursery! Start early and do a little bit at a time. Your stamina and ability to do things really decrease the further along you get in your pregnancy. (At least they did for me!) The last few weeks, it is hard to spend a full day or weekend doing much of anything, so it really helps to do a little bit here and there - an hour after work, a couple hours on a Saturday, etc. I think we ordered everything around 24-25 weeks and had everything done by the time I was 36 weeks.

I agree with the others that our LO won't use it for awhile, so technically there is no rush. But like Mar, I figured we wouldn't have the time to do it all once our babe is here, so I'm very relieved to have it done. And it makes you that much more excited to see everything in place!!

We are keeping our LO with us for the first while since we don't have an extra room. We are hoping to buy a house early next spring, so I'm hoping to start the nursery then! :)

Thanks, ladies, for your feedback! It sounds like any little thing I can get started early is probably helpful, so I'll keep that in mind. :) I just can't believe I'm halfway through and I'm starting to think I'm never going to research everything I want to, get everything done that I want to, etc. Ahh!

We're not ready yet... ugh... Only 5 weeks to go... We take it very slowly I know... Next weekend we put up the furniture. So the decoration still has to wait..
