Adults Only or Children Welcome?

I've seen a lot of posts about this lately, so I got to wondering if you ladies were having adults only or inviting children.

We're doing adults only.  There aren't that many children in our families to begin with, and we though it would just work out better for people.  They'll be able to have fun without worrying about where their kids ran off to.  Should feel kinda like a date night for them.

We are making 2 exceptions though.  My daughter will be there (she'll be 14), and my FI's favorite cousin is a single mother with a 14 year old daughter and they live out of state, so she's invited as well.

We are doing an "adult only" with exceptions to our children. On our invites we will put ex: Yes + 1 or 2 and then you chose who those two are. This is so you don't bring all five or six of your kids.

I have way too many kids in my family lots of nieces and nephews. my plan is to have them all sit in a section specially for kids and get someone (extra $$) to assist them and have activities for them. We'll see how that works.

I have so many kids in my family and I am really close to most of them so they are all invited. I am planning to get activities specifically for them and I am HOPING to find a caterer that doesn't charge for kids. There are a few in my area and I think a lot of them would be willing. *fingers crossed*

@ negrita - that's a really good idea. We did a similar thing for FSILs wedding last Easter weekend. We arranged an Easter egg hunt around the grounds of the venue, it took them over an hour and after all the running around they were happy to sit and do colouring & puzzles from the party bags we put together for them.

I think my kids would be a bit POd if I had an adult only wedding! Lol. I would love to go to one though, there's always been kids at the ones I've been to

Kids are welcome seeing as we have 2 of our own who will be there. As a parent, when I go to a wedding, I assume it as a date night and arrange for a sitter!

I was thinking of an adults only reception but there are WAY too many children in my family and not enough sitters. So, we'll be having a big family wedding and reception. It will be a blast nonetheless!

Definitely kiddos welcome!! We both love kids and there will be several kids in our wedding party!! Excited, I think they bring more fun (even if a little craziness too).

Adults only.  I feel bad because I have a daughter, but I know many people that are coming to my wedding have several kids and I cant afford to feed them all. So, I have admit 2 adults only.  Only kids allowed are those in the bridal party.

Immediate family's children only :/ We have a space limitation of 110! Which is a good excuse for me, because I always wanted a small wedding.

I went to a Bridal show the other week with a friend of mine, a future bride so to entertain myself while she talked to other caterers, vendors, etc. I asked about meal costs for kids at weddings in our area. Egads. Whoa!

I thought of my own niece's wedding a year ago last June and I had young nieces and nephews, family affair couldn't get around. But man so many of the kid plates were maybe half touched, wow talk about biting an investment there.

Now, I am coordinate a NWR event and looking at space and seating limits, and thinking about costs.

I feel for you all in whatever way you decide. Just do what's right for you and what you can afford. However this was a big eye opening experience for how I present my services to brides too.

Best wishes on your weddings.
