Are you planning to serve heavy hors d'oeuvres, a buffet, or a seated dinner?
Or are you planning something else? (brunch, dessert reception, etc.)
We are planning on light hors d'oeuvres and a seated dinner. I really hate buffets just because I am clumsy enough in heels and don't need to try balancing a plate! We are going to have an open bar. I also would like to have a candy buffet or maybe diy smores because our wedding is in the mountains...What about everyone else?
We are also planning on passed hors d'oeuvres and a station for cocktail hour followed by heavy hors d'oeuvres and stations. We've also just learned that we'll be able to have an open bar. We're so pleased!
We're also planning to have a dessert bar. =)
Planning a family style dinner. I really want to have the guests feel "at home" :)
I want to try to do a family style dinner, except I don't know if it will be possible with my venue. But if they don't we will have a buffet (even though I hate buffet).
Seated dinner. Luckly my dad is the sous chef at a resturaunt and the owner has offered to cater the wedding for free :)
Im planning to do family style dinner also. I would love to either have a cookie/pie/cake buffet or an ice cream buffet towards the end of the night.
I am hoping for a sit down dinner.
Since we're doing a DW, we'll probably have a dinner at the ceremony location. Then either a buffet or tons of appetizers at the ARH. I feel like people get bored at sit down dinners, and I want everyone to be able to mingle. Plus, I like options.
We're doing a sit down. Everytime I've been to events with buffets (with the exception of BBQ) the food has gotten cold or seemed like it's been prepared and sitting out for forever. We're actually doing our tasting this Friday, I'm super Excited!
Hoping to do a sit down.
We will probably be doing an afternoon reception since we are getting married on Halloween so for food we'll probably do a lunch buffet. I would also like to do a candy/dessert table.
I guess I'm in the minority on this one! I'm sticking with a buffet. My family has a lot of big eaters and my most of my fiance's family is SUPER picky so we are going buffet. I would like to have some type of hors d'vours during a cocktail hour but that is still up in the air. We are going to try to do a candy/dessert bar and what we are really hoping to do is to bring out casual/fast food, like burgers or pizza, late in the night (to keep the party going and to keep everyone dancing). This would obviously be a few hours after the actual dinner.
We're doing Hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour and food stations for dinner. It's similar to a buffet, but instead of having just steak or chicken and sides we're having stations, like an Asian station, Comfort food station, Carving Station with various meats, Cajun station and a salad station with 3 different salads. I wanted to give people lots of options, plus with an open bar I'm trying to encourage people to really eat so they won't be too intoxicated.
I would really love to do a sit down dinner or even the food stations but I'm not sure if that is going to be in our budget.
