CO BRIDES BEWARE! SCAM ALERT!!
Hopefully I got everyones attention.
I wanted to share with you the most HORRIBLE scam I have ever heard in my life!
I got a call just 20 mins ago AT WORK from a man who says he worked with my FI at his old company "Drexel" and that he wants to throw a HUGE party for him in downtown Denver with all his co-workers and he wants me to invite his family and friends. He told me that he plans to put together a "roast" for my FI where everyone can talk about inside jokes and play the "remember when" game. He then goes on to tell me that everyone in the company that gets married gets this special treat. He mentioned my wedding date and how it's coming up soon. He BEGGED me not to tell my FI because it would be a HUGE SURPRISE
Well... I thought to myself.. my FI only worked for DREXEL for about a month and there were only 4 employees in the engineer firm and I knew all of them and not one was named "BILL VECTOR"
He said that it is going to be $25/per person and that I just need to send him the money ahead of time to make sure they can save the hall.
Ray only worked there for a month and trust me... engineers aren't this fun especially when you work with only 3.
I found out where he got the information:
1. My engagement announcement is in our local newspaper
2. Includes my work (which is where he called me, not my cell phone..)
3. Included Ray's old job
4. Included our wedding DATE
5. Included our wedding town (Denver)
I called my FI right away and he never heard of a Bill Vector and no one in his work, a small engineering firm would throw him a huge party like this.
This makes me sad that now, you can't even share your wedding announcement/engagement.
If my FI worked for Drexel for about 8 years I would have TOTALLY fallen for this because he would have friends and this would work
BEWARE BRIDES THIS WAS THE COLORADOAN AND REPORTER HERALD
