Cricut Users: How Many Cartridges Do You Have?

DH is AWESOME!!!  He got me my Cricut and it came with 2 cartridges and he got me one additional one.  I'm wondering, how many do you need to start with basic crafting or which ones would you recommend to me?

TIA!!!

Yay, Becca! I saw your pics on FB, and you looked so happy!  Sorry, I just didn't comment, because I'm lazy when I FB on my phone.

Is it the Cricut Expression 2?  That's what I have, and I think the two included cartridges are a pretty good start - I used a tree yesterday from the pre-loaded cartridge to make a thank-you card.  I've also used some of the fun pre-loaded fonts for projects.

I have 3 additional cartridges: a music one (instruments, treble clef, etc), a wedding one (we have weddings coming up and we're waiting for people to get engaged), and one that makes various gift tags, etc.

I saw that they have a "dad" one that has things like cars, etc so I want that for making cards for our dad's, or even guys in general.  I also want to get at least a couple Christmas ones by next year!  I was going to buy a baby one for baby shower cards, etc but they have some cute pre-loaded bottles & prams that I might use instead of spending $30 on the cartridge - hmmm.

Which ones do you have?

Thanks, I was so happy that I was even clapping, LOL!!!  I got the Cricut Expression.  It came with the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge and DH also got me the Wild Card cartridge and the Design Studio software to use with my computer.

Can I ask how much a cartridge costs in the US?  In Canada they are $89.99 each.

I lucked out on Black Friday and bought 3 for $60, but otherwise it is going to take me a while to build a collection, because I've been told Michaels 40% off coupons don't apply to the cartridges.  AND I made a purchase at Michaels the other day and the 40% off coupon didn't even print with my receipt!  Then I remembered last year at this time they stopped them as well.  *sigh*  haha

Not at all....they range from $29.99 to $59.99 at AC Moore.  I have not yet been to Michaels since I got my Cricut, so I'm not sure of the cost of them there.

Yes, those % off coupons do not apply on the Cricut, which I personally think stinks!!  LOL

I have only one cartridge. The one my Cricut came with which is the Cake. I bought the cake one for a screaming good deal on ebay for $63 + shipping. I just need to buy the blade, cutting mat, and wedding cartridge to use it for the wedding. After that I'm going to go crazy for scrapbooking!

My 2 GF's I scrapbook with have tons of cartridges I'll be able to borrow until then.

I shouldn't count... I'd probaby have red cheeks, but I'd say somewhere around 30.. eek o.O

I would highly recommend a nicer font cartridge. I love Storybook and use it a lot, and also Calligraphy, although I think there are a few others out there that have nice fonts. Girls, USE the websites to order!!! If M's and ACM's don't have them on sale, then you are getting ripped off!! Here are a few of my fave websites to order from that they are always cheaper than stores, sometimes even when they're on sale:::
