I am trying to figure out what to do for my altar decorations. What are you doing?
Do you have a picture of your alter? I am going to take pictures this weekend so I can start getting inspired.
I do. It's a very large, open space, so I'm worried about the size of the decorations. I am thinking of doing a very very large paper tissue pomander, but am not sure.
I'm getting my ideas from David Tutera.... I love it when he does an All White Ceremony then Shocks the guests at the reception with awesome color
I'm gonna do lots of candles. & White Baby's breath EVERYWHERE +white roses
I'm interested to see alter decorations. My florists wants to charge me about $500 to do about 14 pews ... I think i'm going to use some artificial or silk flowers instead ... it will probably save me a few hundred ....
Hi pghdride2010- I am thinking of making tissue paper pomanders for the pews, and then I will bring them to a reception site and plop them on a vase. I also toying with having the tissue paper altar decorations.
Here's what I mean:
I am going to make a branch arch of a combo of these two.
joandcompany- that is beautiful!
tkeith, keep your fingers crossed for me that it works out.
My ceremony is in a church. One idea I have is to use some fabric to drape down the aisle along the pews and then have about 6 or 7 tall vases with floating candles. There are 14 pews on each side of my church.
these are all really helpful
You could think of having a tall centerpiece (that can maybe be reused for the reception) and prop it up on a pillar to give it added height.
Baby's breath would be a low cost choice and it's so voluminous!
tkeith I am having the same problem, I have no idea what to do for altar decorations.
That baby's breath is fab though, who knew something so simple could look so good!
Ours is a church also....
On the alter we had tall callas (the mums were all through the church)
and (its kinda covered our aisle runner is monogramed)
there is pew bows with flowers and cones on the first pew full of flowers.
i havent had my altar deco..since its been a part of a package that we've paid, we need to pay an extra when we brought our own deco..
I painted an arch I bought from the craft store and decorated it with flowers and made tissue paper pom poms for the aisle seats
Heres a photo of the arch. It was $10 and I also purchased some brass acrylic paint to paint it. My hubby and I painted it to make it look like it was brass. We decorated it with ivy leaves, lavender roses, hydrangeas, and wisteria. We also made coffee filter pom poms for the aisle seats:
My wedding was outside, and I just hung up a diamond string thing in the tree. Pictures on my bio.
