Mercury glass vases

I love these but I can't seem to find enough for my centerpieces, so with the help of some inexpensive glass vases and Looking Glass spray paint, I want to make my own.

My question though: You have to paint the outside of the vase because the water will peel away the paint. Do you think this will be an issue with my fresh flowers? The paint will be on the outside but I'm concerned about water dripping on it or even condensation. Anybody else ever used this idea?

I did not do the mercury glass look, but I did paint on glass for some of my CPs and kept this website for instructions on what steps to use to paint on glass.

This is a pic of what this person painted.

Hope that helps and can't wait to see the finished product.

Thank you, beccabride. I tried the mercury glass effect with a product called "looking glass" spray paint. Well, it does work but if you spray it on the inside and then put water in the vase...the paint all comes off in flakes. I'm so bummed. On to the next idea.
