buy an good inexpensive wedding dress - need help from those who tried
I am new to the forum. First I want to all congratulate you on you upcoming wedding day,
now let'S go back to business.
My wedding will take place on a golf resort in Canmore Alberta in Canada in August. I need a wedding dress asap!
I am not the type to cry for a dress (say yes to the dress type of cry, I am very pragmatic), and I am not willing to pay a lot of money for a dress I will only wear once in my life. So I am looking for an alternative. I tried on the Edimburgo San Patrick dress in a bridal store a few days ago, I liked the fit and the material. it was a siena organza Ivory color dress. The salesperson added flowers on the sleeve and it look good. But as my wedding is so soon this year I could not order, and she said I had to buy the only dress she had left in the store for $1500 CAD, with no discount!!!
Honestly, not that I can not afford the dress, I think it is a lot of mone spent on a dress I will never where again. And if I had to add the cost of alteration it is almost $2000, so technically this dress will cost me $200/hour as I will only wear it fir 10 hours in my life.
So I decided I would buy it as a knock off. I don'T mind it not being exactly the same, but the quality of workmanshift and the material are very important to me. I know I know people say when you pay less you have to expect less. Not so true, I tried on $2500 dresses and they were not that great and all shiny.
So I need your help ladies to hel me decide on some vendors or seamstresses, tailors.
I checked out Jeff Liu, he did not send me a quote yet.
Dressily me send me a $480 quote but no picture of their actual work on similar models. But the lady wrote they will use organdy and not organza, at least it was honest.
and I declined an offer on the ioffer.com website I used for everything else I buy, because the guy refused to send pictures of his work and never wanted to answer when I asked for the material he will use.
Can you please help me find someone good and legit so my day won't be ruined by a poor choice. If you bought a dress on a site can you PLEASE POST pictures, because I saw a lot of fake reviews and I want to make sure I am talking to real brides and not sketchy employees.
here is my dress pictures (I want to change the neckline to sweetheart, but I saw a pix on line of a girl who bought it and changed it too):
by the way the sleeve is removable but I want ot have it on
Thanks ladies for your future reply. :)
