Finished BM dresses and Veil
I'll post pictures as soon as I get a chance. But, I was able to pick up the box with the 4 dresses and my veil from the apartment manager yesterday. I was a bit surprised at how small the box was lol, but it WAS a box, not a bag, completely covered in tape. Seriously, it was the size of my cat!
The dresses.. I LOVE!!! They turned out so well done, i like them even better than the original. They changed things a little, specifically on the sashes, the original had beading on one side and the tails; instead Dressilyme did the floral pattern in embroidery, obviously machine-done, with thread to match the dress fabric. It goes all the way across the front and on the tails. It looks fantastic. The colors are gorgeous. The sapphire blue is a perfect bright rich blue that's going to make my MOH's eyes really pop, which is what I was wanting, the perfect shade. The dark ruby is a great warm red, I'd say more garnet than ruby, which is the exact shade I wanted, and looks fantastic on my friend's carmel skin. The purple is not the royal purple I had in mind (I got the byzantium that Ally got), but the color fits my vision a little more than royal purple would have, it's very rich, I wouldn't call it marroon at all. The green is a bright kelly green. Makes me think of Ireland. It's a bit "clearer" green than the other colors, but the hunter would have been wy too dark for my idea. They all look exactly as I wanted all lined up together, and the one I've been able to put on the girl wearing it fits perfectly. I am so so very pleased to see these make my vision a reality.
The veil. I'm saddend by the veil. They did it as a drop veil instead of gathering it and putting it on the comb, which I could live with and EASILY fix. The organza trim is the wrong size; it was supposed to have aout an inch trim, instead it's more about 1/4 inch. Again, something I can live with and probably fix if I really wanted. However, the tulle is so stiff and itchy. I can't imagine it near my skin, let alone the sensitive skin around my face and neck, all night. I realized early in my wedding planning that I was a veil bride, and really NOT a hair bride, and put so much emphasis on the veil in my head that I almost cried when I took this one out of the packaging. It's a far cry from the beautiful soft and flowy thing I wanted. There's also some little tears in it. I'm going to be getting opinions from some seamstresses to see if I'm over reacting. But, at least, it was 23 dollars and nothing more. I'm going to see if I can scrounge money to get another.
Again, I'll post pictures when I get a change to take some decent ones.
