My dressilyme experience with lots pictures!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I joined this community because of this board. I came across this thread through an online search for Knock-off dresses and thus, it is my turn to give back in hopes that this review will help futures brides find their perfect dress.
I ordered a dress from dressilyme.com on Sept.30,2011 and received pictures of my dress on Oct. 12, 2011. I asked for pictures when I first emailed them and then again when i put my request to order. My inspiration dress is Callista for brides with curves #9105/#4105. You can google for more pictures of the inspiration dress.
Dressilyme's quote was $211.02US dollars plus $14.99US dollars for custom sizing. This quote did not include shipping. I also got a quote from another company called Jasmine's bridal shop. Jasmine's bridal shop quote was $499 US dollars plus $150 US dollars for custom sizing. This quote did not include shipping. Jasmine's bridal shop did provide upgrade options for additional costs. Dressilyme did not provide upgrade options.
I orginally dealt with Paris when I first emailed dressilyme and communications were great.
I will try and attach orginal pictures that dressilyme provided me with on Oct. 12,2011.
When I received these above pictures I asked dressilyme for more beading on the front of the skirt and the bottom of the chapel train. Karen from dressilyme responded within 24hrs. She told me, "No problem" and within 48hrs she sent me more pictures.
The dress arrived in less than a month (oct.25,2011). It arrived in fedex box. it was wrapped in plastic bag and then finally a dressilyme bag.
After, i took the dress out. I had to turn it right side out. I believe this is a standard with most sellers. My first reaction to the craftsmanship was great! I was thrilled to see the stiff netting on the inside of the dress and the seams were perfect, there were no loose threads. There are breast cups and boning (11 bones in bodice of dress) I have provided pictures below.
I absolutely love the beads on my dress. they used different beads on the hip detail. however, i love it more than the original because I think it will show up better in pictures. I cannot express how happy I am with the bead work and so happy that I asked them to add more to the skirt and chapel train. They didn't charge me for any extra bead work.
I had to ask my little cousin to come over so that I could try on my dress. When I saw the first pictures, I thought that the dress was going to be too short. I had my measurement done by a professional seamstress. however, she took my measurements in Centimetres and I had to convert it into Inches for dressilyme. Needless to say I was worried that my math was wrong.
However, the length of the dress is perfect! I was also worried about the breast cup size as well. As you can tell I have really large boobs lol I wear a DDD/ F cup in street size. Again however, all the measurements are perfect. I DON"T need any alterations at all. My dress is Perfect for me. I love my dress! I didn't try on any dresses in stores but that is because I know what I like and what I think looks good on me. My friends and family thought I was so crazy to buy a dress online without trying on dresses but this thread and project wedding's dressilyme thread helped me to decide what company to use and what kind of dress. If you have large boobs like me I suggest a lace-up back. Overall I would recommend dressilyme to my family and friends because I had no problems at all.
Cost breakdown for my dress: $211 US dress + $15 US for custom sizing + $35 US shipping + $27 CAN duty= $288 plus a couple of dollars due to currency exchange rate and paypal fees. I think my grand total for all fees is $298. YEAH for me!! because I don't need anything else. I have posted pictures below. One pictures is with my cathedral veil that I bought fron Venusbridal shop on ebay.ca/ebay.com for $26 dollars CAN. It has scattered rhinestones on it.
My hope is that this long review will help others in the future like this thread has helped me. So sorry for the bad pictures and the length.
