Took 15 days from order to start tailoring?
I'm new to this group... but have read probably every post on here in trying to decide whether I should order from DressilyMe! I decided to give it a shot...
I wanted them to make one of their dresses (WWD008E5... sorry... won't let me post the link yet) with a halter top instead, as well as a couple other minor changes. I took a photo they posted in the reviews section of a dress they had actually made and photoshopped it to look exactly how I wanted it to come out. (Hoping that by sending them a photo from their actual dress rather than the designer dress it'll come out looking really close to that.) After arguing with them a bit regarding sending me pictures of the dress before they ship it (I had read here and on other forums how to get them agree to it), they agreed to photos with the increased tailoring time of 40-45 days instead of the regular 20-25 days. I've got a few months so I wasn't too worried if it took extra time, but many of the brides who made this same arrangement with them said they still got their dress in only 2-3 weeks.
Of course, I've also read about brides that were told they'd get pictures and were suprised two weeks later when the dress showed up at their door instead. Since it had been about two weeks since I placed my order, I figured it would be a good idea to check in with the after-sales team to make sure they had gotten the memo from the pre-sales team about the photos, and had also recieved the photo I sent with what I want the dress to look like. I initally emailed email@example.com, figuring that went to Karen, but didn't hear back the following day like I had in the past. The next day I sent another message through the order messages instead of email. That time I heard back the next day from Ivy in pre-sales, who assured me that I would get pictures and to be patient.
Now, here's the weird part. Right after the message from Ivy, I got one of the auto-messages from DressilyMe saying my order was now being sent to the warehouse to begin tailoring, and I could expect it to be in tailoring for 20-25 days.
I'm not sure if they just delayed starting on my order because I asked for pictures... or if it is common practice for there to be a wait before tailoring starts (guessing not since it seems like most brides get their dress quickly)... or if my order somehow got lost in the shuffle until I reminded them of it...
Any thoughts? Anyone had a similar experience?
(Unforunately, I also can't post the photo I sent to them here yet. I'm guessing you could probably see it by going to my profile and viewing my photos?)
