What styles to stay away from

Does dressilyme have certain styles that aren't their strong suit? How about materials...are there any that they just can't work with or are just not wedding dress material?

Any help would be great!

I'm totally going off what I've seen others here say, I have no experience with these styles, etc. from Dressilyme...

It would seem mermaid styles have problems in that Dressilyme seems to make them super super tight, easy enough fix: add a couple inches to the hips/waist area and provide extra measurments for thighs/knees again adding some extra inches: much easier for a seamstress to take something in.

As for fabrics, it would seem organza is not a great strong point. A couple of brides here have said it's not as flowy and soft as the organza in bridal shops. I just ordered my veil and have asked for organza ribbon as a trim, but generally I expect organza ribbon to be a bit more stiff than organza as a fabric. For soft and flowy, chiffon or soft tulle seems better for them. (My dress was a tulle ballgown and the tulle the used was fabulous)

Details, details... I've seen complaints about ruffles (could be the fabric as the dresses with the type of flowy ruffles gals have been looking for were organza...) and ruching. It seems the ruching may not always be tacked down as expected causing it to move and bunch in ways it shouldn't... (?) I don't know because I didn't try on any gowns with ruching so I don't know how it's SUPPOSED to look.

Again, my dress was a tulle ballgown type and turned out great. The boning is great; the seams are nice and sturdy, the tulle is great and the satin is the same quality (if not sometimes better) as the dresses I was trying on in stores. One of my favorite features is the re-embroidered lace... very well done and beautiful lace.

Hi Johnswife,

I'm one of the brides whose dress was made with organza... you can see the full progression here: http://www.projectwedding.com/post/list/finished-dress-pic-heavy-2
