Living-Dining Room help!
I have the most awkward space for my living room/dining room, and I'm looking for some suggestions on color and how to arrange the furniture. It's an older farmhouse the rooms are smaller, the ceilings lower and the corners and angles are messed up! The living room has no open walls except the one the couch is currently on, the rest have windows, funny corners, or a closet. See the pics and let me know what you think!
The living room - the furniture is old and will be replaced, have to wait until after the wedding!
View from the couch, looking into dining room - you can see the hardwood flooring we haven't had time to lay down stacked in the corner!
View from dining room into living room (ignore the puppy butt, he kept following me around!)
Right now the walls are alternating cream and dark gray, with brown curtains. The previous owners painted, put new carpet and curtains for the open house and left everything for us as a 'housewarming' present. Should I make sure that whatever color I do is the same in both rooms, since they bleed together?
I don't know what to DO with the dining room space at all! Would a big table help, or make it look cramped? What would you put on the walls around it... shelving or standing cabinets?
Any other suggestions to make these rooms look more cozy?
