Have a Seat!

May brides have you done your seating arrangements yet? How did you decide who was going to sit where? Do you have a bridal party table? Sweetheart table?

Above is my seating photo 2865675-1


Above is my seating chart. I used www.theknot.com because I had previously had my entire list there and just didn't feel like redoing it on PW. Its not complete since I am waiting on my darling husband to tell me which of his co-workers are coming. I hope this helps anyone who is looking to some ideas.

I did ours today with our DOC and caterer. FI helped as well.
I first made a list of each table and put each person we want seated next to each other.


The caterer just needs to know how many people will seat at each table. We found our placement for our sweetheart table and the rest of the tables and buffet.
It was easier than I thought because I thought I needed to draw it out. The DOC already had a map and plan of the reception area and we just told her where we wanted to be seated, where the DJ and buffet tables will be and where the rest of the tables will be.

Awesome. My coordinator gave me the best template but I found my handwriting to big to fill it out so I used the knot. One of the few things I use that site for...LOL

Awesome! I'm really hoping my venue can give me a diagram or something. I was wondering how I would tell them which guests I want to sit at which tables (i.e. close to the front, near the bridal party, etc.)

My lady at the venue gave me multiple copies of the layout (diagram), and I've been working with that. And then I just made a spreadsheet with lists of the guests and table # (based on the diagram). It REALLY has helped me. Oh, and I bold the guests on the list as they RSVP.

Ah...thats awesome I had a Accepted list separate from the invitation list I made online. So it helped me keep track the numbers so I invited 70 guest and got 60 RSVP's which was the number I was going for.

Oh, as far as deciding who sits where, that's been hard. And I actually had a mini-fight with my mom about it too!! I'm bad. I'm not doing a sweetheart table though, but we are doing the head table.

i started a draft. so far so good. I have to revisit it his weekend.


i wanted a sweetheart table, fiance wanted a head table with the bridal party. since he does not bug me on wedding stuff, i let him win on this one

dfvalent Im so sorry to hear. It is very hard to decide where to sit. We have taken a step back from it for a little while.


DaintyDime6 Aww thats sweet. I dont remember how we came to decide on a sweetheart table but Im glad we did and so is my bridal party...LOL

i havent started on the seating chart yet...


my fi wanted a head table and i wanted a sweetheart table. we decided to have a head table with an elevated sweetheart table...now we both get what we want!!! lol

We're having a kings table of 15 for the bridal party and their guests (and kids!). We were able to get the seating chart down in about an hour, and then sent it to the parents for approval. Luckily many of the families are big so one or two filled a table. We do have one entire table full of single guys, that one will be fun I'm sure!

we are going to do them this week...once we get all the last minute people RSVP....we are having a sweet heart table and a head table...my FI and I are putting the close family members in the front and friends and co-workers in the back

I have somewhat. I know we're having a sweetheart table and then BP tables will flank ours. We will have parent tables and then the rest of the guests will be filled in at other tables. I do know that I will have at certain tables though. Beyond that, I haven't done much because people have until May 25th to RSVP for our AHR so I still have a little time. When I come back from the honeymoon I will spend the first week of June really getting that together. The AHR is June 25th.
