Worried about showing my arms!

I'm extremely nervous about showing my BIG arms in front of everyone. Am I alone? I've already bought my dress so there's really no turning back. I didn't find anything pretty with sleeves. Am I overreacting?

I think that if someone is busy focusing on your arms during your wedding, then they shouldn't be there. Most people who attend weddings already know and love you, and will think you are a beautiful, big arms or not. But, if you are seriously uncomfortable, you could always fet a bolero or a shaw or something.

Honestly my arms are my worst feature and over my big belly and huge thighs i am most self conscious about them; however when i tried dresses on with sleeves and off the shoulders I felt ugly. So try them on and whatever one you feel comfortable in is the one you should get

Thanks guys!

And Rye, I didn't think of it that way. The room will be filled with people who know and love me no matter what and that's a very comforting thought.

I totally agree with Rye! I felt the same way especially in a strapless gown. But I was reassured that my arms aren't as big to other as they seem to me.

LOL! I've been using my exercise bands too!

I recently lost 65lbs and my arms are starting to deflate and they're hanging like bat-wings. I really get nervous about how they'll photograph...but I'm goint to work them as much as possible between now and October...It'll be fine.

This is a topic that i can totally relate too ladies...

I have been looking at dresses & all of them are either strapless, sleeveless etc. The ones with sleeves just look bad on me so i ended up decided on a sleeveless dress.  My sister told me the same thing. This is who we are, our Men love us for who we are, although we are self conscious about what others may think we have to just ignore it all.

I too have been using exercise bands plus i will tan a bit... =)

I think arms are the thing that most of us worry about..I know I do..but..I think that big arms arent really THAT bad when you consider the other things we could have lol :S aslong as your arms are clean and well cared for...who cares that theyre slightly on the large size? thats how Ive started to view it anyway :)

If it REALLY bothers you then there are solutions, work out ur arms, wear a bolero 2 cover the widest part, tanning also helps with the look of bigger arms :)

Its your day, people will be admiring you with big arms or not. Enjoy it! :)

Totally know how you feel! I hate my arms and I never ever wear tank tops unless I'm at home and ready for bed.  I'm very nervous about how they'll look come wedding day, but I need to let me hatred for them go.  I don't want to wear a bolero with my dress, so I'm working on toning my arms the best I can.  But in the end, people won't be focusing on your arms.  They'll simply be focusing on beautiful, stunning you in your just as beautiful, stunning dress :)

I can totally relate. My arms are my least favorite part of my body. I've always had big arms no matter what weight I was at. I've been doing a lot of work with EA Active ( a game for the wii) and it uses a resistance band and dumbbells and you can customize an upper body workout. It's very useful.

You definitely aren't alone though. It seems like most dresses are strapless and those that aren't can have weird necklines or look frumpy ( not all, but some that I've looked at). I still haven't decided if I am going to go strapless or not.

Thanks for posting this.

Hey I totally hear you on the arms. I hate mine!  But look it's your day and you're going to be the THE most beautiful woman in the room hands down!  So no worries!

And if it still bothers you- there are tons of super cute and stylish boleros these days. I'm probably going to wear one.  Check out demetrios Illusions line http://demetriosbride.com/us/index.php?page=collection_illusions

I am self conscious of my arms too...I WILL NOT wear a sleeveless shirt in public...I JUST WONT!  It was very important for me to have sleeves in my dress (albeit it was 1996)...I was married in late November so long sleeves did not seem to be an issue...

There are several things you can do (as others have mentioned too :)

1)  Work out those arms - we could all use a little extra oomph in the arm area!

2)  Purchase a beautiful short sleeved/cap sleeved bolero - LOTS of gorgeous options up to 3x online...

3)  Purchase a beautiful lace pashmina - silk pashmina - organza pashmina - and do the back tie for your ceremony...so hard to explain, but you wrap it around your shoulders and under your arms creating a bolero of sorts and then tie it off on your back - IT REALLY LOOKS GORGEOUS!

Let us know what you decide or if you would like assistance searching the net...BTW, can you post pictures of your dress - maybe even one of you in it?

Yup! I can totally relate. I've lived with being hippy and having big legs my entire life, but my arms seem to have blown up this last 2 yrs and I hate it.

I'm determined not to exercise them until I lose some of the pudge off of them since adding a new layer of muscle underneath is just gonna make 'em look bigger. Seriously, I have NO problem being "full figured", "curvy" or whatever you want to call it, but I want to be proportionate. Right now, I feel like my arms look wierd.
