Updates?? Where is everybody?

Where is everybody? Any new updates? This board has been so dead lately.

I will be the first to admit that I have not been around as much as I used to be. I was in denial after our miscarriage thinking that we would get pregnant right away and I would'nt have to use the word infertility again! But, AF showed her face last week and we are back to trying clomid. I will be doing another round of 150mg. Taking baby asprin daily, using pre-seed, propping my butt up with a pillow, and using progesterone cream after O. CD6 today so I took my first round of pills last night. Usually O on clomid cd17-18.

I have been super cranky lately with no clue as to why.  Yesterday I heard a song on the radio by Jason Aldean "Laughed Until We Cried" and there is a verse that goes. "Just the other night the baby was crying, so I got out of bed and rocked her awhile, and I held her tight, and told her it would be alright. My mind traveled back to a few years ago, we tried so long we almost gave up hope, and I remember you, coming in and telling me the news. Oh man, we were living, going crazy in the kitchen, we danced and screamed and held each other tight, and laughed until we cried." If you don't know the song, it is a good one. Anyway, I thought about how happy we were when we got our bfp and were laughing and crying and then about how we are back to trying and feeling so defeated....almost giving up hope again. Started balling on the way home. I was able to hold it together until I saw DH and then broke down again and started crying. DH was way confused!!

So, I am an emotional mess right now and the only word I can think of when it comes to trying again this month is "defeated". But, I am trying to hold my head high and look towards the day we get another bfp.

Sorry for my long rant....how is everybody else doing? Where are you in your cycle this month? Doing anything different?

Awww, Dana, my heart goes out to you... Just reading those lyrics made me tear up. I will have to look that up later so I can listen to it. I really hope you get your bfp soon. This journey can be a tough pill to swallow.
Princess,I think it is good to honor your feelings. We skipped a month because I just didn't think I could deal with yet another bfn after our first failed IUI. We originally were going to skip 2-3 months but 1 month ended up being long enough for me(kinda).
As for an update, this cycle was IUI attempt #2.
I went in for an ultrasound on the fourth of July(Mon) and they saw 2-4 good sized follicles. Then late that night I did my trigger shot and Wed morning DH and I went in for the IUI. DH's sperm count was low again, in fact it was even lower than the last time :(
I feel weird about the whole thing. The first time I was not as positive feeling or hopeful about the IUI as this time but after hearing the SA results I was kind of deflated.
On the non-baby front, DH's company got bought out and they laid off 85% of the workforce. Fortunately, he was one of the 14 people that was offered a job in the new company's corporate office so due to the job prospects in Tampa, FL and the fact that, luckily, I can do my job from anywhere, we decided to accept the offer and will be moving to Nashville, TN sometime in the next 2-3 months. DH actually grew up there until he was about 13 but I have never even visited Nashville! Ahhhhhh!!! I don't even like country music, lol! :)

@Princess: I guess it never goes away, huh? Good for you that you are taking the time that you need if you are not ready to take that step just yet. We did that a few months ago too, just having that time where you don't have to think about O and DTD on schedule feels great. I hope when you are ready you see a bfp quickly.

@G8R: I am sorry about the way you are feeling. I completely get it! You try so hard to do everything right and you have no control at all. Keeping my fingers crossed for you this month! Yay that DH got an offer! Just up and moving like that would scare the heck out of me but good for you! I would love to go to Nashville, I am a country girl though!! That song I was talking about is country, just to warn you, lol :)

There isn't anyone else around?

Hi, I've lurked on these boards for awhile but have never posted anything. My DH and I have been TTC for 17 months now. I was diagnosed with PCOS and started seeing a RE earlier this year. We finally got a BFP in early May but I ended up miscarrying at 10 weeks and having to have a D&C a few weeks ago. It was absolutely devastating. We are still waiting on the go ahead to start trying again. I'm hoping that clomid works to help me to ovulate again before we need to move onto anything else.

I hope that all of you girls get your bfp's quickly!!

Well I've been lurking long enough and finally decided to post after a loooong time...

Here's my old post for some history of our journey...

http://www.projectwedding.com/post/list/ready-to-share-2

Well back in March we attended an IVF seminar and they raffled a free IVF cycle...well we won!!! Fast forward to now....the egg retrieval was this past Tuesday and  our transfer is scheduled for Sunday morning...I'm getting nervous, excited, you name it!!!  So far we have 7 embryos and we're supposed to get a new report tomorrow.  Please pray that the cells multiply and we get some good ones!  Oh and some sticky vibes too! :)

Dana - I am actually freaked out about the move because we just moved into this house that DH had before we met less than 6 weeks ago. I just finished unpacking about 98% of everything. blah...
I'm going to have to get used to being surrounded by country music so this song is as good a place to start as any. I do like Dolly Parton and some Johnny Cash stuff so I don't totally hate it. And after watching The Voice I really like Blake Shelton.
That's something, right? LOL! :)

I was wondering the same thing!

@Dana - I completely understand! I hope this month will be your month! FX

@Princess - I am so sorry for your loss, I hope taking time off will be good for you.  FX for a BFP asap!

@Jady - I hope IUI #2 is the BFP fo ryou! Good luck with the move.

@mikesgirl - Welcome!

@ValleyGirl - thats amazing! I hope everything goes great for you on Sunday! Keep us updated!

As for me, Its so hard and everyone around me is getting pregnant no problem. Its so hard to stay positive. I started pulling away from my cousins (who are both pregnant), I am throwing both of them seperate baby showers and its making me miserable!! :-( They keep emailing every day for rsvp updates and I just can't take it anymore. Its just hard for me to be happy for them when I want this so bad too.

We are on round 3 of Clomid 100mg, I go in Wednesday for an ultrasound and bloodwork. I am so super hopeful that it works!!! Im trying not to be so hopeful but I can't help it! I really hope! I'm waiting for Allie to have a baby dream about me! =)

Glad to see all of you ladies checking in!

@Mikesgirl: I am very sorry for your loss, I know how devastating it can be to loose your little one.

@ ValleyGirl: That is amazing! Congrats and I hope we see your bfp post very soon!

@ Allie: You are always welcome to stop in and chat, hopefully about some big old fat BFP dreams about all of us!

@G8R: Did you get a chance to listen to it? I have heard a lot of non-country people say that because of that show and Blake Shelton they are expanding their horizons and starting to listen to it a bit.

@Artlvr: I really hope this is your month and clomid works this round for you! That has to be hard to plan both showers for them....I don't think I could so it.

Hope that everyone is having a good week so far....

I just came from my first appointment following my D&C. I've got a prescription of provera to induce my period. Even though I have PCOS, I've always gotten regular periods. Has anyone taken provera and had any side effects? How long did it take for you to get your period? Also, the pathology report on the embryo came back inconclusive. The RE wants to run some more tests before we try again. Has anyone had a saline sonogram of their uterus?

Mikesgirl: I have had to take provera a few times. I have not noticed a ton of side effects from it. The only thing I can think of is I feel a little dizzy about a half hour after taking it. I try to take it at night when I will be staying home, not that I have to drive or anything when I feel like that. It can take up to 10 days after your last pill for AF to show, I usually got AF on day 8 of taking them, but everyone is different.  I have not had an HSG yet but it has been discussed. If we don't see a successful bfp in the next few months I will probably have one.

Thanks Dana! I'll definitely take the provera at night. I've actually done the HSG to check for blocked tubes. I think that this is similar but they inject your uterus-rather than your tubes-with saline to see if you have any abnormalities in your uterus. I suppose that that is what could be causing the miscarriages.

Hey Dana - how is it going with the clomid 150mg? Are you being seen for ultrasounds on day 12 and etc?

@Jady any news on your IUI yet?

For me the 100mg didn't work so starting provera and hopefully they are uping my doesage of clomid. Im trying to stay positive but its hard.  I have my cousins baby shower sat that I am throwing at my house. I will be so GLAD when these 2 baby showers are OVER!

Artlvr: Not doing so well here. CD19 and haven't O'd yet, and history tells me that if it hasn't happened already, it isn't going to happen so this cycle is a bust. It is just so frustrating because I know the 150mg works, that is what I got pregnant on! Why didn't it work this time? Will it work next time? I have to go in for bloodwork CD21 but I know already what the results will be. Because I am just seeing an OB she does not do ultrasounds. I wish she would! I had another night last night where I just broke down and cried. Because the clomid didn't work and because had we not lost the our baby, we would be almost out of the first tri and ready to announce to everyone. I know I can't keep thinking about what could have been, but for now, that is all that I have to hold onto.

Sorry that the clomid didn't work for you either. It is so hard to get your hopes up that this just might be the month for you and to get let down. I know, staying postitive lately is reallyyy hard.

Jady: any news?

Mikesgirl: I have never heard of a test like that. Best of luck with it though.

Any other news ladies?

Oh Dana! Im so sorry! I understand your frusturation. Are you able to switch from OB to a RE? At least then you would get bloodwork day 3, 12, 14, 17, etc, and ultrasounds. (although I have to say seeing the ultrasounds with lots of little follicles and nothing growing is super upsetting too!!) I would be thinking and asking myself the same questions over and over again. Maybe try thinking to I got pregnant once and I know it all works and it will again! (I dont know, but Im here if you ever want to talk!)  Do you know what your next step is going to be after your bloodwork? Maybe having a plan in place will help too.

The RE called yesterday and I am to start the provera on Friday then they are upping me to 150mg clomid. I am so hopeful! we are going away the end of the month and I am a little worried that the RE is going to make me wait since I wont be able to get ultrasounds =( I wont see them for 2 weeks now- day 3 so I guess ill find out then. FX!

Hey guys,

I am out of the country for work and in an unstable area so not much consistent internet access so just a real quick post to update you on me. (I have been reading all of the posts and keeping up with you as much as I can and keeping you all in my thoughts)

Unfortunately, IUI#2 was a bust. I was devastated and it was even worse this time since I was away from home when I got AF. I came home for 3 days and set up my appt for the third and last IUI attmept. I go in this Saturday morning for my ultrasound and then either Sunday or Monday I will go in for the IUI. Really hoping this is the one so we can avoid IVF. :(
Thanks for checking in on me and for being so awesome. I <3 you girls! :)
Good luck to everyone and baby dust!!

G8R.Girl: I'm so sorry. I was really hoping that this would be your month! That is such devastating news. Worst case, if you have to do IVF, I know lots of people that have been successful-even on their first attempt. Have a glass of wine and a big piece of chocolate!

Dana: That's terrible news. It has to be just so frustrating since clomid at that dose has worked before. If there is any way to switch to an RE, you should definitely do it. I go to an RE and they do so many ultrasounds and blood tests to monitor if/when you ovulate so that you can really time things. Although, like artlvr mentioned, seeing just a bunch of cysts and no follicles is so frustrating.

Artlvr: Congrats on the new plan!

I'm sitting here waiting for my period to show up. I'm on day 9 of provera so hopefully soon. Considering that I've spent so long hoping that my period wouldn't show up every month, wanting it to be here is a real switch. My strange uterine saline test will hopefully be next week so I'll let you all know what that is!

Keeping you all in my thoughts and baby dust to all!

Oh Jady I am soo sorry. I was really hoping this would work for you this time. How are things coming with the plan to move? On a side note: did you listen to the song yet? Not too bad for country music right? :)

Mikesgirl: I hate waiting!!! Whether it is to O, 2ww or AF, I hate waiting for all of it!!! I agree, when I had crazy long cycles and was on provera it was so strange to wish for AF to show.

Artlvr: My ins does not cover any infertility so it would be a huge out of pocket expense for us to go to an RE. While I would love to, financially we just can't do that now. We are hoping to move in the next few months and are trying to save for a down payment. Even now just with the clomid I am putting out a nice chunk of change for the meds and bloodwork.

A HUGE update for me today. I woke up cranky because it is rainy here and went to the bathroom and used my CBFM, again, assuming it was going to be another high reading, almost hoping it would read low so I could stop testing. I was dead set that it was going to be another high and I decided I wasn't going to test anymore this month since I didn't think there was still a chance. Went back to bed and when the reading was done, took the test out and got a PEAK reading!!! OMG! Unfortunately DH and I have not BD'd in a couple of days but I sure will be jumping his bones tonight! Not getting my hopes up too much but just to know the med is working again is huge!!
