Here's this week's thread lovely ladies!!!
(I promise to do my update this week - LOL)
Well, I don't know about all of you but I'm (knocks on wood) hoping that this weather is here to stay! It's been nice and mild here in Nova Scotia -we went for a nice long walk with Megan and our lab Bella and it was just so great to be outside :)
We actually have a few things going on this week (for once lol!)
Tomorrow -someone's coming to look at our washing machine, which for some reason stops mid-cycle every load.
Wednesday -we're going to the optometrist; DH & I both wear glasses and it's been almost 2 years since we've been so we'll both get new pairs and I'll get new contacts. I haven't worn contacts since shortly after I got pregnant since my eyes were always dry and sore for whatever reason. I'm really excited -I LOVE trying on glasses lol. I'm also hoping that Megan can get her eyes checked since DH has a rare eye condition that he has a 50/50 chance of passing on to her. His is relatively mild right now but it can vary so fingers crossed that if she does have it, it isn't so severe. I've already come to the conclusion that she'll most likely need glasses at some point since we both have pretty poor vision but I think little kids in glasses are SO cute :)
Thursday -Duh, duh duh duh duuuuh! That was supposed to be doom music lol -we're going to the dentist :( I HATE going to the dentist but I know I have to go since I've been having pain for awhile and I haven't been in years -shame shame I know!
Friday -MY PARENTS WILL BE HERE!!!! Yay! I'm getting so excited! My mom's been to visit twice before but it'll be the first time for my dad :) In fact, he's never been a "guest" in any place that I've lived before!
So that's my week! It feels good yet different to actually have plans to talk about haha!
Hope you all have a wonderful week :)
@Steph--WHEW! That is one busy week! Hoping your appointments all go smoothly. Also, hoping Megan will get to get her eyes checked and everything goes well. Excited for you guys that your parents will be arriving! I know you've really been looking forward to that.
I don't have too much going on this week. Saturday we have our BIG fundraiser for Cystic Fibrosis. I will be knocking out a few projects for that. Tomorrow my coffee table and end tables will FINALLY arrive and get into my house--I want this house done so badly. I hate how it takes money to decorate, haha!
Last week I wrote that I had decided to start looking for a job again. So far, I have had some luck! I contacted a few people and they put me through to HR. I am in the recruitment process for 10 positions! I hope I get one of them--the 10 positions are all similar just different departments. It can take on average 8 weeks to get through all of it. I truly hope this works out!
Hi ladies! I miss this group, so my goal is start hanging out here again :)
Shneffer, I'm such a nerd, but I love the dentist! Think of it like a mani/pedi/facial type of thing... well, at least try to think of it that way, haha. And if nothing else, you have something really fun to look forward to with your parents' visit!
Jess, I totally hear you about working on the house! We're in the same mode, especially now that we've officially been in our new place for six months. I know we've done a lot of projects, but there are always so many more. We're having a party for DH's birthday/Memorial Day/belated housewarming coming up the last weekend of May, so now I really want to do more projects!
Other than house work (mostly landscaping lately), my focus has been on wrapping up my own semester: one more major paper due on Thursday and I'm finished this semester! Of course, my next class begins May 20, so there isn't that much of a break, but I'll take what I can get. My teaching school year ends on June 25, so I'm counting down the days to that!
