Here's this week's thread lovely ladies!!!
Oh my, have I been slacking on these the last few weeks. :-(
Things have been a little hectic between work and my long overdue spring cleaning/decluttering project. I feel like I haven't been in this group in such a long time and I've soooo missed you all!!!
This week is probably going to fly by for me since we are leaving on Friday morning to drive to Buffalo to see family and attend my niece's baby shower on Sunday. Even though we are going to see family (not the entire time we are there), I'm looking forward to getting away for a very much needed break. I'm hoping we will have a little bit of time so that I can show DH Niagara Falls since he has never been. : )
@Becca, I feel exactly the same.. I haven't given updates for weeks as time seems just to fly by between working, meeting up with friends, quality time with DH and LO, house projects etc... It's just crazy!I bet the break will be great and I hope you get to spend some time with DH. I'm sure the baby shower will be awesome too and everyone will be so happy to see you!
As for me I'm doing good. Finally we get some sunshine, although it's not for long and temps don't really rise, summer just seems not to come really this year. This morning I had my glucose test at the gyn and I have to wait for the results til tomorrow. But I'm doing good, the baby is growing fast and I'm already 25w5d! We decided to wait and see if we get a boy or a girl, but I can hardly wait!
At home we are changing our office room to a nursery, or at least a part of it. We're not done with it yet, there's still a lot to do, things to sort out, furniture to move to get space for the crib and changing table, curtains to be fixed etc. I haven't decided on the colors yet, but there will be yellow as we already bought a very cute yellow ceiling lamp. I'm all excited about it! :-)
Hi Becca! I just posted in the knitting and crocheting group. Did you make something for the baby shower?
Hi Olivia! Awww! I can't wait to see the nursery and I like that you have chosen yellow or at least incorporating in the color scheme! All things baby I just love!
As for me, yes I have been slacking off here too and I love Project Marriage. My rheumatoid arthritis has been really acting up, but DH has been great. On the bad days, he just holds me as I cry myself to sleep. It is attacking my whole body. Today is not so bad. I am walking with a slight limp and the pain is tolerable. I go back to see rheumatologist on the 30th because I am going to have to start giving myself injections. I have been crocheting up a storm because so many of my friends are having babies! Me and DH are going to Memphis. He is leaving Friday with friends driving and I will fly in Sunday morning. It is so crazy I will only be there for two days and then we are leaving to come back Tuesday. I don't want to even get back into that mess, but DH has learned no more couple trips! I am nervous, however, about being around everyone in pain and nervous about how the weather is going to affect me. I had forged a relationship as much as possible with DH's daughter's mother for the sake of my stepdaughter. We had her this weekend and she was playing with my hair curlers, burnt herself and didn't tell me or DH. Her mother text me and asked did I know and I said no, apologized and told her I would make sure to keep the curlers in the bathroom we don't use. I thought all was resolved and she called DH about it again and that really upset me. This is the second time she has done that after I thought an issue was resolved. I am the one who agreed to take my stepdaughter to school each morning and DH picks her up so her mother could work a job she found through the temp agency. Her own family won't assist her and this was my idea because DH was against it and she is always making trouble.
Anyhoo - Hope all you lovelies have a wonderful week!
Yea, this board has its ups and down. HOpefully I will post more here as well. I miss you ladies on here as well!
Becca, hope you have fun on your trip! And that'd be awesome about Niagra Falls! I've never been there either!
Olivia, how exciting about the gender thing! Hard not to find out, but very exciting! Hope the nursery comes out how you want it. I'm obsessed with yellow right now, so I like that lamp idea! I'm re-doing our room sort of gray and yellow. We already had gray, just adding a lot of yellow touches!
Tressy, still sending you postive vibes to hope you feel better. Hoping you enjoy the trip! Once again, you are so strong for constantly having to deal with the step daughter's mother. :(
As for me this week, I am going to Salt Lake City tomorrow for work. I'm leaving super early Wednesday morning, and getting back late Thursday night. WIth budget cuts, I'm surprised I'm even going! I get to get certified to teach CPR and first aid classes!! And then I have all day Friday to finish my paper before DH and I leave for the weekend to visit friends. BUSY WEEK!!!!! AHHH!
Hey Elise! My week at work has been crazy!!! I had to cancel my dr. appointment for the 3rd time with the surgeon because my job is going through some transitioning and she needed me here. Getting hubby packed tonight so he can leave in the morning at 3:00 in the morning for the trip. I am flying in to meet him Sunday, but I am working my second job tomorrow and have to drill with my Navy Unit Saturday. Way to go on getting CPR and first aid training and have fun with your friends!
Sorry I've been MIA these last couple of weeks -my parents have been visiting and we're starting to plan our long (19 hour!) road trip back to Ontario.
@Becca -hope you had fun on your trip -I'll always have a special spot for Niagara Falls since that's where DH proposed :)
@Olivia -I bet you're really getting excited for lo to come now! Kudos to you for waiting to find out the sex -I found with Megan but if we have another we won't find out. I'd like to experience both situations. I bet the yellow in the nursery will be beautiful!
@Tressy -I'm sorry you've been having a hard time medically and with your step-daughter but so happy about how wonderful your DH is you :)
@Elise -Sounds like you had a super busy week -hope it calms down a bit! I commend you for working and going to school at the same time. I could never balance both!
AFM, like I mentioned, my parents, Megan, Bella the dog and I will be heading back to my parents' place on Tuesday morning. We'll be spending the night in Quebec before finishing the trip and arriving on Wednesday evening. I have to start organizing everything I want to bring soon since it's a lot harder with a baby's things to pack!
Hope everyone (had) a great week! :)
