I've not been to one myself. when I first heard about this, I thought what a great idea! but I had already bought my dress at the time. you can find a lot of answers to your question by going to makingmemories.org though. I'm going to donate my dress after the wedding since this is such a great cause.

my FMIL actually donated her dress to the brides against breast cancer dress charity. while some dresses are obviously dated with the 80's style puff sleeves and all that, there were some that were only a season old and they were great prices! and, it's a great place to find fabric from old dresses if you're considering having yours made...it can be your "something old". just a thought!

i'm definitely thinking of donating my dress after the wedding!
