Local DJ - DJ Eric Kissick

Just wanted to warn any brides out there to stay away from DJ Eric Kissick.  We hired him for our wedding, because he was cheap.  Well you get what you paid for.  I gave him a list of all the music we wanted played from the seating of our guests at the wedding all the way through the reception.  In our meetings, he confirmed he had all the songs and would play them.  At some point during the evening, he decided he knew better than us and started playing whatever he felt like.  Much of the music alienated many of our guests and they went inside to get away from it.  When I asked him why he hadn't stuck to my playlist, he acted like I was an idiot and it was his show, not mine.  Then to make matters worse, a CD of all our music was promised as part of the package we paid for.  He never delivered the CD even after many requests on my part.  He would give excuses that he was so busy or moving or this that and the other, but he would get to it soon.  Each time, I said okay.  Finally after months and months, I wrote him a strongly worded email to which he never replied.  Recently I got a request from him to be added to his contacts.  I wrote him and said no and reminded him of my displeasure.  He wrote me back a nasty email calling me arrogant and a bridezilla.  He said the CD was complimentary and not to be included with the package.  My contract and information from him lists the CD as part of what I was paying for and also on his site, which is www-dot-djerick-dot-net (sorry, this site won't let me put in a link unless I've posted two other times), under weddings, he lists the CD as part of his service.  DON'T USE HIM unless you want to be treated poorly and with no respect for your wishes or for what you pay for.  He will treat your event like a one-man show for him and he doesn't deliver on his promises.

This is just a response to Jerelyn Brimers' post dated 06-01-2010:

First of all, yes our prices are appealing and I believe are fair considering this very weak economy. Obviously it was within Jerelyn Brimer's Budget as she did choose to select our services based on our prices. And yes, we had all the song selections that she asked for with us and really couldn't be without them as she insisted on providing them for us with multiple CD's.

Jerelyn claims that the music I was playing "alienated her guests"  however it was not my selections that alienated her guest. It's really quite the opposite, it was her extreme eclectic musical choices along with her requests to play numerous sound bites from Southpark that really alienated her guest.  I specifically cautioned her to be considerate of her guests musical taste needs as I do with all my clients.  I realize that the wedding day is Bride & Grooms special day an d it's all about them, but it shouldn't be at the guests expense. This really ended up being her show and her show alone.

Seasoned DJ's are groomed to understand their audiences needs and should be trusted to meet the guests needs as well as the Bride & the Grooms by making the appropriate musical choices. This is why I provide every bride with a top 200 list of most requested songs for a wedding which is based on a national survey. Very few of her choices ever appeared on this list, but I played them anyway.

What is ironic is that whenever I threw in a different selection (one from the top 200 List) guest came up to me and said  Good Music!

Regarding our complimentary CD, it was just that. It was something we tried to provide to our clients as a special bonus and have now discontinued since our experience with Jerelyn Brimer. At first there was a delay in getting it out to her due to me having to move during the downturn of the economy out of our rental home that went up for sale within a 30 day notice. Our whole world was in disarray! I'm sure anyone can relate to this if they have ever had to move ou t of a 2200 square foot home and downsize into a Town home. I asked for her patience, but she persisted to be extremely rude & demanding.

It was at that point that she became very disgruntle and began to slam our services for any reason she could come up with. Our company at point decided to discontinue the complimentary CD due to cost and this experience with this particular bride.

It was so unfortunate for me when I signed up with a social networking site, that it took everyone of my e-mail contacts automatically and extended invitations to everyone including Jerelyn Brimer which I was not aware of a that time. This was new for me. Once again, she began to slam our services (after some 3 years later) and put out nasty posts on various Wedding Boards after a string of e-mail harassment and continuous frustrations.

Everyone of the other Wedding Company Boards took down her post that she smeared all over the internet except for this one here at (Project Wedding). This is why I have taken the time to write a response to all this in due fairness.

I would like to make a final point that Jerelyn came to me looking to use our services by a high recommendation from a previous client (one of her friends). There was never any mention of displeasure until the issue of the Complimentary CD.
