Need help with Reception site for 200 in CA under 7,000 for everything

Hi Ladies, I need help!!!!! I am having the hardest time finding a good reception site that is under $7,000 for 200 people to feed them and everything in LA or OC area. Everywhere I look it seems like it's 10,000 and up. If you have any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Ladies. Nicole

try changing you day or time of year.

try a Friday night or Sunday or a morning/brunch time

most places will offer you a discount if you change to a less popular date or time

I had to change from a SEpt date to an OCT date to stay withn my budget.

you will find the Right place stay positive ; )

Where in La/Oc have you been looking? Check out Thank Goodness It's Sophia Catering, We are having our reception at the Norris Pavilion, but they have a few other preferred locations! They can work within your budget and create a menu to suite your style, cultural backround and preferences! If you have a morning ceremony and lunch reception, the pricing will be more reasonable and you won't need to feed your guests as much food as if it were dinner! Go to a tasting with them, they hold one free tasting per month and they will wow you with their creativity! Good luck! Cheers to another August 2011 couple! :]

Check out the Mitten building in Redlands. It is super inexpensive and the food is amazing because they cater through farm artisan food. check it out. but it isn't la or oc :-/

The Grand in Long Beach has a special for Sunday through Friday. It's $40/person so that would work out to $8,000. That includes tax and service charge so I'm not sure if you were taking those extras into account with your $7,000. Most places will charge 20% service charge plus 9.75% sales tax in Los Angeles.

You could also rent a nice space and go a little cheap on the catering by hiring a food truck or taco cart. My best friend is doing that for his backyard wedding and I know for a fact that the tacos are super yummy. I think they're only spending a couple grand on the food, plus they're obviously providing their own booze since it's at home.
