Rehearsal Dinner

Hi! When do you send out RD invitation? And the wording?

We weren?t going to do one. We are thinking of just having the rehearsal at the church and hand gift basket to each attendant. Since our rehearsal is the night before the wedding and our ceremony starts at 9:30. We want the OOT guest (which half of our guests) to rest so they won?t be to tired to enjoy the wedding next day. But FI?s mom want to throw us a RD.

So any suggestion will be great. TNX?

I've actually never heard of RD invites. Maybe that's just me. I'm not really into the thick of planning yet, so I could be wrong. About the time thing, can you bump up the rehersal? That way the dinner could start earlier. And maybe instead of a full dinner, how about a cocktail hour with fancy finger foods before the rehersal?

i've never heard of rehearsal dinner invites either, but i'm not super traditional about things.

for my sister, we just did it through word of mouth for the extended family, and we emailed the bridal party about it. it was actually a rehearsal dinner and family dinner combined since a lot of my extended family lives out of state.

For our destination wedding, we only had formal wedding invitations. All of the other invitations for the week-long events (pre-wedding luau, rehearsal dinner, other activities...) were done by Evite (http://www.evite.com) and it worked really well. Not sure if that will be an option for you though...

I used an Evite to invite guests to the rehearsal dinner. It worked out great!

I was just going to send the RD info with the wedding invites. As for your OOT guests being tired, why not have a post wedding brunch instead of the RD? This way everyone will be settled in. Just a thought =o)

We had evite for the ceremony rehearsal. My sister hosted our rehearsal dinner and she had invitations. The invitations were one of those from Papyrus where she filled in the place, time, date, for, RSVP, etc.
