Romantic Weekend..

Looking for a fairly inexpensive place to go this weekend that won't break the bank but will be relaxing and romantic.  Thinking about somewhere between Santa Barbara to San Diego but not sure where I could find a decent deal.  Any suggestions???

Have you thought about San Luid Obispo? There's a cute downtown, amazing restaurants, a great farmers market, Hearst Castle and tons of wineries! There's a lot of bed and breakfast you can stay at that are very romantic. San Luis Creek Lodge and Petit Soleil are two of them.

Santa Barbara has a lot of bed and breakfasts, and they often have last minute deals. If you check the website or call a few days before you want to go, they will often heavily discount rooms, since the room would otherwise sit empty.

If you want to go to Newport Beach, I was at the Fairmont Newport Beach a few weekends ago for a bachelorette party and we got a super deal. Low 100's for a suite with a jacuzzi and seperate bedroom and bath. The hotel isn't on the beach, but it's really pretty and upscale.

Try up north to Solvang or San Simeon.  Sign up for travelzoo.  They have deals all the time.  I saw a bed and breakfast for 69 bux a night.

Long Beach has so much to do and really great deals on hotels... you can go to the queen mary, the pike, pine street, the aquarium...lots of restaurants and shopping too.

I was actually on a romantic weekend in Long Beach when he proposed! We were at the Avia hotel- check it out- rooftop bar with an ocean view :)

If you like wine tasting, Temecula is beautiful this time of year and the wineries are really nice and close.  You can get 2-for-1 coupons online that are good on Fridays.

Santa Barbara wine country. Solvang is about 10 min away. You can stay at Wine Valley Inn, cute, clean and in the middle of town. Priced really well. you can visit all the wineries, and eat at all the yummy bakeries. Have Fun

San Diego zoo is also really fun,  but a less romantic destination. lol
