Where to purchase liquor?

So for my venue, we have to purchase the alcohol, sodas, water bottles, etc. and I'm having a hard time deciding where to buy from.  I know Costco is cheap... Bevmo lets you return unused bottles... and Smart & Final is probably cheap, too... are there any other places?

Any suggestions?  Advice?

My advice would have been to stock up on holiday's, events where beer, soda's etc. would be on sale!

Time is short now.....I would pay close attention to the store ads & stock up that way. After that, I would just price compare and go with the store who has the better deal on the bulk of my purchase.

Try Trader Joe's for wine. I'd say BevMo though, especially when they hav etheir $0.01 sale.

Bevmo is the way to go. J Andre champagne at $2 a pop. You can also return them if they are not used.  Costco has a varitey beer pack or you should see if you can or your caterer can get you a Keg for the beer. Water bottles and soft soda's I would do costco as well.

Best of luck and happy planning

Thanks everyone for the info!!!  We'll definitely take a look at all of those :)  I know... I'm cutting it close lol... a month and a half and I'm barely thinking about this... oy.  We'll for sure take a look at Bevmo and Costco since I know they have good deals at both.  I think the closest Total Wine to me is the one in Tustin, but I'll google and see if there's one closer :)

Thanks!!!!!

Costco is definitely the best for this! I just purchased a bunch of stuff there for my b-day party on Sunday. I wish my venue would let us bring outside alcohol in. I would hit up Costco in a second. Plus, they have great gas prices too.

We used Costco for hard alcohol & beer.  If it's unopened they let you return it.  If you are looking to buy wine going to Bevmo when they have their 5 cent sale is probably the best.

Kelli and Bryce,

Firstly congratulations on your engagement, we wish you both a life filled with happiness!

I’m the CEO at BevMo. I really enjoyed reading your posting. Obviously I believe BevMo is your best option, here’s why:

  • You can visit your nearest BevMo store and taste the wines before you buy with one of our knowledgeable “wine specialists”.

  • There is no pressure to buy; we just want you to make the right choice. Taste it once or twice or three times as long as you are happy, we are.

  • If you are not sure what product or brands you want we can make recommendations that fit any budget. You will get the best wine and rating for the price that we know you will love.

  • We can help you pair the wines to the food you will be serving.

  • We can even help you work out how much to order based on the number of guests and the length of the reception.

  • We can store the product until the happy day and deliver it to any location, and have it nicely chilled and ready to be enjoyed by you and your guests.

  • And yes if for any reason you are not completely happy with the product you have purchased you can return the unopened bottles for a full refund no questions asked.

Bottom line BevMo makes wedding planning “easy” and stress free, allowing you more time to enjoy this very special day with your friend and family. I have asked our Director of Special Events, Tanya Seibold to reach out to you early next week to see if we can assist you and Bryce to plan your wedding.

Cheers

Alan
