EEEEEE!!!! News... and questions!

Yesterday I was at work on break and TWO of my friends posted they were pregnant a couple hours apart!! I was very happy for them of course, but it only made it harder for me to wait until Friday to test for myself. One of the girls came in the breakroom and I joking asked her if she was pregnant too since it seems like everyone is. She said no, definitely not, but it usually comes in threes! Well, this morning I couldn't want any longer so I POAS and it came back pretty quickly... BFP!!!! AHHHH!! SO EXCITED! So I literally woke up, tested, and ran to the computer to tell you ladies first! haha So now a couple questions: how and when to tell DH, and how and when to tell family??? This may sound weird, but I'm nervous to tell family (and even DH) bc of my M/C in October. I'm scared and nervous for this pregnancy. Part of me wants to tell close family on Christmas, but I'm really scared to tell them and what if something happens again? Because if we tell them on Christmas, that'll be about the same time as far along I was the week I M/C. I know chances are low to have another one, but still. What to do? Sorry, kinda long.

That is fantastic news, lex! I honestly do not have much in the way of advice on when or how to tell. I think I, like you, would love to be able to announce on Christmas, but I totally get what you are saying about being a little nervous to do so. Maybe to tell DH you could pick up a cute little baby stocking and put a note "For next Christmas" or something like that??

Congrats to you! FX for a H&H pregnancy!!

Congratulations!! What a lovely Christmas gift!

That's a cute idea missjess!

We told our parents and siblings on Christmas day, it was too good of an opportunity not to, and I was 10 weeks. We were worried about saying anything before the 12 week mark, but it was so wonderful to do it at Christmas.

We made photo calendars for our parents with the July photo being us holding a 'We're having a baby' sign, I gave my sister a Willow Tree figure of a pregnant woman.
My sister told us about her first pregnancy on Christmas day too by giving my Mom a ball of wool and a knitting pattern, it was hilarious because all the girls burst into tears and my brother thought it must just be really rare wool!!

Lol! Canooknic, that's hilarious! Those are great ideas! I will probably be only about 6 weeks on Christmas. DH will be coming home for lunch from work in an hour or so, but I don't if I should say anything yet!

Congrats!!!!!!

We have already agreed we will not be telling anyone until after the 1st trimester because of our risks. Both our mom's are gonna be mad we didn't tell them sooner, but I can't handle their disappointment if I were to m/c, but that is our decision =)

CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!! How exciting! I swear the "It happens in three's" is SO true!!!

If you are anything like me, I wouldnt be able to contain myself... I would at least have to tell my Mom right after DH... Plus not, having at least a glass of wine around Christmas time with my family would scream PREGNANT.

I cannot wait to hear how you told your DH & his reaction :)

My family would have done the same CheekyMar! Me without a glass of wine would have had the alarm bells ringing straight away.

I had great plans for revealing to FI, but when I saw the positive test I couldn't contain my excitement and ran and jumped on the bed and woke FI up!! I had wanted to get a New York Knicks onesie to give him, but it all went wrong! Lol. I then decided that's how I'd reveal with baby #2 but it turned out that my first pregnancy was twins so I never had a second pregnancy!!

Congrats! Wishing you a happy and healthy 9 months!! I told my DH right away then we waited until I was about 6 weeks to tell my parents -we bought a cute onesie and let my mom open it :) then we told DH's parents when I was about 12 weeks -we were going to tell them over skype (they live in England) when they were at DH's brother's house for my nephew's first birthday but then they (brother and sister-in-law) announce that she was pregnant with baby #2 and we didn't want to steal their thunder so waited a few more weeks -our baby girls are exactly one month apart :)

Awwww Lex Congrats on your BFP and like CheekyMar it's really so true with the "It happens in three's" :) I'm so happy for you that you git your BFP so soon after your m/c. I will keep my fingers crossed for a sticky bean and wishing you happy and healty 9 month.

I love the idea with the stocking Jess mentioned - this is so cute :)
When I will get my BFP I will surprise DH with a cute red romper saying "First it started with a kiss..." i bought a few month ago!

As for me and DH we decided when we will get our BFP that we will not telling anyone until after the first trimester except my twin sister as she will be my midwife. We are planning to tell her after 9 weeks.

Awe Congrats!  DH and I agreed this time around we wouldnt tell anyone until we hit 14 weeks and were in the safe area to announce it.  We lost our first LO too and had told a ton of people and then having to go around and "un-tell" it was just too hard.  We both knew we wouldnt want to do that again.

Congrats Lex!!!!! H&H 9 months...Christmas is a great time to tell at least the family. I will be 8 weeks on Christmas and Im telling my friends on Saturday as Iam having a bday gathering. Everyone should know by Christmas tho. We are not waiting, too excited to hold the secret any longer...lol....

You should find a cute way to tell the hunny, go buy two shirts, one pink, one blue..or go buy a small cake from Jewel's( supermarket) and write a message on there. You can also wrap the positive stick in a box and give him a gift on christmas or buy an ornament. Just some ideas

Thanks so much ladies!!! And for all the great ideas! I had bought a onesie the other day after I found out with little candy canes all over it, and this morning I gave it to DH and told him I had an early Christmas present for him. At first he was confused and thought it was for our niece and I told him it's for NEXT Christmas and at first he was almost speechless and then said he was very excited! Still not sure about when or how to tell family as I won't even have gone to the doctor or be 6 weeks yet I think... We'd really love to, but we're nervous!

Congrats on your BFP! So excited and happy for you and your DH! H&H 9 months to you!

I was barely able to contain myself for the 30 min it took for DH to shower and dress. I prepped his reveal while he was in the shower. lol After him, I couldn't not tell our immediate family. We know we're running the risk telling them early but they'll be loving and supportive if *knock on wood* we don't have a sticky bean. But that's it, we'll reveal to the world after we hit 12 weeks.

Congratulations!! What an amazing early Christmas present for you guys!!

I think when the time is right to announce your news all depends on you guys. I can understand why a couple would want to keep it to themselves a bit, and I can totally understand why you would want to shout it from the rooftop on the day you find out. In our case, we would probably tell our families right away. We're very close, and spend quite a bit of time together (I work with DH's mom and aunts) so it would be difficult to hide for long...especially if I'm sick or start gaining weight early. But that's us. You guys do what you think is best for your family:)
