I'm back! And prepping to TTC.
I was on months ago and you all were very helpful with recommending books to read. I've got Ina May's book, TCOYF, and the Nutrition for a Healthy Pregnancy. I've been sporadically taking prenatals since September, but have been more regular the past few weeks (I need to make it a habit). I've become more active and have lost 4lbs in the last month (not too shabby considering the holidays!). I've also started to include more of the super foods (from the Nutrition book) into our regular diets.
We have decided to start TTC May/June, but have had some roadblocks. When I had my physical in July (in Canada family dr's also act as OBGYN's unless you have health issues) and I expressed wanting to go off the pill in September, since I've been on it for 11 years (mostly to regulate & control my sporadic and vicious AF that would cause me to be MIA for days). My dr scared me into staying on it, and her reasons seemed to make sense and even convinced DH that I should remain on it. Fast forward to today, I wish I trusted my gut on went off back then.
So now I'm in a predicament with an April vacation planned. I don't want to go off the pill now, in case AF comes with vengeance while we're on vacation. And frankly, I don't want to get preggo on vacation since we don't want a Christmas/New Years baby. I'm going to take my last pill the day we fly home from vacation, but then I'm concerned I won't be O'ing for our targeted start date.
So my questions are ... even though I'm on the pill, would it be beneficial to start charting now, just to get the hang of it? Is there an app for charting that follow the FAM of the TCOYF book?
My new years "resolution" (I never make them but figured it sounded good) is to really start gearing up, so if we have problems I can say I know I've done the best for my body that I'm capable of doing. I'm just super nervous with being on the pill for 11 years...
PS. Good luck everyone :-)
