Update

It's been awhile since I have been on the boards. Just haven't been feeling any baby stuff lately. DH and I went to his Urology appointment today and I definitely left with mixed emotions. Doctor said DH appeared to be in tip top shape! His exam went great! We got some blood work done and have to go back to get an ultrasound and a test to check for any blockage. He also has to do another semen analysis to check for the amount of healthy sperm. His count was only 3 milion this last go round. We were also told that with the way things look now we only have a 2% chance of getting pregnant naturally! So after we have all the test done we can figure out the best route to go whether it be to spend the time and money to correct the problem or to just go ahead and do the alternative IUI or IVF. I'm not very hopeful about any of this. Especially with the cost of everything it honestly just seems very overwhelming for a 23 and 24 year old to be going  through something like this. I'm starting to think its financially not in the cards for us. : (

Oh, Emily. I'm so sorry you guys are having to go through this. We recently found out that my DH might be part of the problem too, and it's been really hard. I totally understand where you're coming from. Have you tried contacting your insurance company to see what might be covered? My nurse told me testing is usually not covered, but I found out that my insurance does cover one three year diagnosis/treatment of infertility per lifetime. Good luck, I hope you can figure something out! Hugs!

sorry Emily <hug> It's a very tough situation to be in. I  feel my husband and I are very healthy and dont' think it's fair to be going through infertility.

I had a test done yesterday and I had to pay $200 out of pocket. I don't know how much the infertility treatment will cost us.

It's hard and I don't quite buy it yet myself. ..BUT I have been telling my hubby that we can be happy even without a baby (which I want with all my heart). I have to start looking at the brightside. IF we can't have kids, we can travel and spend a lot more money on ourselves. (Adopting is not really something I want to do-not now anyways). We are both very happy together and I think we can overcome this heartbreak together if we need to.

I guess I've just started to prepare myself mentally for the worst case scenario, because we're like you....Not sure we can afford to make a baby. :(

fingers crossed for a miracle for you and I.

Emily, im sending positive thoughts your way. To me is really difficult to understand why two healthy individuals cant conceive. We have been trying for over a year and nothing. I recently started taking fertilaid. I figured i had nothing to lose. Most of the reviews were good. I have been afraid to schedule an appt with my gyno because he said we had to wait a year. Good luck and hang in there.

There's a trick we used to up my husbands sperm count volume and morphology. He took one a day vitamins and whole zinc pills for 3 whole months. As well as drinking pommegranate juice. His results from before taking those things to now even made the doctor ask "what have you been doing?" Best part is, it's all natural- it's worth a shot. I'd suggest the same for you.

I also used used preseed and instead cups, it worked the first month we tried them both together.
