Update: DH's Urology Appt

Hi lovelies! I hope you are all doing well! Sorry about all the posts, but here is another update from us :) After DH's "less than desirable" semen analysis, they set him up for an appt with a Urologist (male infertility doctor). After examining DH, it was determined he has Varicocele. This means he has three veins that are actually blocking his tube, which reduces the testicle's ability to produce and ejaculate sperm. This is why his sperm count was at 3.2 mill and why they aren't going very far. Ultimately this is correctable... with surgery. So right now we are checking how much our insurance would cover (if any), because if it doesn't cover anything it will be $7-$8K out of pocket. After this surgery, his count should increase to above normal (above 20 mill) and the rest of his sperm production should be normal as well. Any prayers are appreciated :) I'm doing fine, and he says he's fine... but I know he's worried and I'm going to have to be strong for him :) This also means we will be out of the TTC for three months while he recovers and his sperm count returns to normal. After the 3 months they do another SA to see how he's doing. TIA ladies!! I will let you know the more I know what's happening :)

Okay, this is good news!  This means that its not a "factory" problem!  I know surgery sucks and waiting will be hard, but I personally would rather have this news than find out that he just can't make good swimmers or enough  - they just aren't getting out and are getting damaged because they can't get out!

*HUGS* I hope that insurance will take good care of you guys in this!

@Claire - thank for the kind words hon :) that's exactly how DH and I are looking at it. We finally have the answers we were looking for :) it's looking like insurance will cover 70%... And DHs parents might help us too so we should be right on track :)

I am happy you guys have answers and that it is fixable... So happy that the insurance will also cover a large portion of it (thank God for insurance, though they can be a P.I.A ) Sending you a virtual hug :) .

Yes yes virtual hug coming from me too! This is all great news, finally some answers. Even though surgery is in the cards, it must be such a relief.
