Weekly Check-in ~ June 25th

It's officially summer!  FX for lot's of BFP's during the summer.  As long as it isn't too hot and humid to BD.  lol.  Or at least ensure the "boys" are kept cool.  How is everyone?

It's CD 9 of our first TTC cycle, but I'm not getting too amped up yet since I tend to O on CD 23.  I'm actually trying to forget we're now officially TTC, but I can't seem to just push it out of my mind.  DH is super happy we're actively TTC, so that's really nice.

I've been reading a lot on LPD, and I know we shouldn't self-diagnose online but health care here won't bat an eye at my issues until I have longstanding BFN's.  After 4 post-BCP cycles, and remembering what they used to be like, I'm afraid I could have it comparing my charts and symptoms.  Do you think this is too much supplementation in the mean time?

  • eating healthy.  working out.  trying to maintain my 14lb weightloss from earlier this year.

  • prenatals

  • a probiotic every morning (as well as eating good quality yogurt once a day)

  • B6 in hope that it helps my LP (although I may give up on this after this cycle, because after 4 months it doesn't seem to be helping)

  • vitamin C (I've heard it helps with regulating hormones)

  • Vitex/Chasteberry (supposed to be good for LPD and hormone regulation)

  • cinnamon supplement (I see a chinese dr/acupuncturist and she said I should be including cinnamon in my diet regularly, and it has a ton of health benefits so why not)

  • a pregnancy omega (that includes DHA)

  • drinking a large mug of raspberry leaf tea from CD1-O

I don't want to do anything detrimental, but I'd rather try to beat this naturely if I can.  Or at least when a dr. will give me the time of day tell them how many changes I've already made, so it obviously is beyond my control.

LOL - Keeping the boys cool is right!! ;) I have my hubby on a boxer regimen the Two weeks we BD and I O, just to make sure :) FX for a bunch of summer BFPs as well!!!

@Amanda - GL on your first official TTC cycle dear!! I think you are fine doing the above things, it's not going to do anything but help IMO. Right now I'm doing Pregnitude, Pre-Seed, Castor Oil Packs, Fertility Tea, Fertility Massage, B6, Prenatal.... so I think you're just fine ;) And like you said, why not try to naturally fix it??

AFM - I just O'ed yesterday (FF says yesterday or today, but my EWCM yesterday and temp jump today have me thinking yesterday), so now I'm BDing hopefully tonight and then again Thursday, and let the wait begin!! I'm still taking all of my supplements (see above), and I had more ovulation cramping yesterday than I ever have, so maybe that's a good sign with the pregnitude and Fertility Tea I'm taking?? Either way, I'll take it :) Praying for a BFP this cycle for my DH and I :)

Hi Ladies!

@Amanda - GL with your first month TTC, sending tons and tons of sticky baby juju your way. I agree with Krisitin, I don't think any of that can hurt, so why not?

@Kristin - I saved some sticky bean juju for you too of course! Hooray for O cramping, it has to be a good sign!

AFM - I am CD 16 and after my next visit from AF, we are starting our first cycle TTC. Anxious!! DH has me a bit worried because he recently decided he wants to train for a half marathon in September and I know what all that heat can do for the swimmers. Trying not to get too anxious though and just letting it happen. If we have trouble, then I'll probably have to ask him to chill on the running. But, I guess I can wait until after the half marathon, I'm so proud of him taking this on, so I don't want to quash that. We leave for vacation next week, AF arrives while away, BD the weekend we’re back. Let the games begin! AH!

Thanks ladies for the feedback!  I'm also buying all my supplements from health food stores and I'm careful not to take too much of the same thing in a day as not to cause any issues that way.  Oh, we bought pre-seed too.  Thought about waiting until we had unsuccessful cycles, but DH was in agreement it doesn't hurt to use it from the first round of TTC.  If we have issues we really want to know it's out of our hands.

@ Kristen: hopefully the strong O pains mean you're super fertile and ready for a sticky bean ;-)  Have fun with all the BD and try to relax during the TWW and hopefully being excited for vacation makes it fly by!

@ Nicole: eek!  It's a crazy mix of emotions!  I'd BD in Jul/Aug and you might get a BFP.  If it doesn't I wouldn't sweat it too much.  Once he's done the race in September tell him he has to keep the boys cool for a while.  Compromise :-)

EEK! Butting in to say good luck to the new and soon-to-be officially TTCers!! And, of course, to Kristen, who I am always hoping to hear good news from! :-)

@Nic: Try not to worry too much (yet!) about the half marathon. My DH is an avid bike rider and continued his normal regimen while we were TTCing. He even trained for and completed a triathlon a few weeks before we officially began TTC. (Southern summer heat + tight bike shorts. Ugh lol!) And...here I am, 37 weeks away later, ready to deliver any day! I know it can be a concern, but your DH might not be affected. Definitely a great thing to let him pursue and accomplish this while he is motivated :-)

Hey ladies!!!! I pray we all get baby dust and have a whole bunch of spring/summer babies!! :D...

I stopped tempting, with my schedule it's difficult to always wake up at the same time and tempt, so after like 4days I stopped plus this is really my first TTC month, I finally got my period, I am CD 10th, should be ending soon so I hope, FF says I should be O'ing on or around July 9th, I will be starting to use OPK on CD12, I bought 20 clearblue digital OPKS so hopefully I do O this cycle.

Again tons of baby dust to all of us!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I am on CD 11 now of my fourth cycle on Clomid. Took my last dose 2 days ago. I thought I was past all the side effects but the last couple of days I have felt almost menopausal. Hot flashes suck! So now I am waiting to O which should happen around the 4-5. Unfortunately I work the three days before that and working 12 hour night shifts does not leave much time/energy for BDing. But if it is mean't to be it will happen. GL to all you ladies

@KWoodrn: What side effects are you experiencing with clomid? Are you on 50mg or 100mg?

I am have been on 100mg this cycle and last. I have always been super sensitive to hormones. I have almost constant nausea, occassional vomiting (which really screws with you mentally when you are trying to get preggo), hot flashes like crazy and after O and until after AF I have almost constant cramping. Not fun and it would all be worth it if I knew it were going to work but it's not recommended to take for more than six cycles so we only have two more after this

Thanks. I'm trying to stay positive but after over a year of disappointment I have just stopped getting my hopes up. Kind of at the point where if it happens it happens but if not it's just not meant to be. Gl luck to you too
