(Dislcaimer: I haven't. But I want to. Badly.)
this looks delish, i'll give it a try this week. thanks!
any other suggestions?
DH just seasons the meat with goya adobo seasoning. gives it lots of flavor!
I know this doesn't sound yummy but it really is and I get requests to make it all the time. I saw the recipe on some food package once and don't have it any longer so these are just guesstimates on amounts.1lb ground turkey2-3 Tblsp of Ranch dressingHandful of chopped walnuts1/2 cup or so of shredded cheddar cheese1-2 shallots or a handful of diced onions1Tblsp of Worsteschire sauceMix this all together and form into patties and cook in a very hot pan (cast iron is ideal)Place on Honey Wheat Thomas's English MuffinsTop with avocado, bacon etc. Basically whatever floats your boat.I really like avocado and a tiny shmear of Ranch on the bread and bacon if I have any leftovers from breakfast. DH loves when I do that plus top with caramelized onions.Be careful with adding the Ranch and Worsteschire sauce. It can make it "too wet" so I eyeball that. If it is too wet/loose after you form it into patties you can add breadcrumbs but I usually just throw it in the fridge for a little while and that keeps it together long enough to cook.If you try it let me know what you think. :)
My hamburger recipe that DH and I love is simple:)
1lb of ground beef or turkey
1 package of french onion soup mix (liptons)
5 crushed salt crackers
1 tbsp parsley
Mix together and tada burgers:)
I am not sure if you like texmex but I just tried an amazing Food Network recipe this weekend. Simply take ground beef and patty it. Place it in a container and give a shot or two of soy sauce on each patty. Let it marinate in the fridge for about 20 minutes before grilling it. Meanwhile prepare some guacamole, and slice a tomato. When the burgers are just about done take some pepperjack cheese and melt it to the patty. Remove from the grill and place on a bun. Instead of using ketchup, take some guacamole and place on the top of the bun. Crunch up some tortilla chips and place over the burger followed by the tomato. Finish by placing the guacamole bun on top and enjoy.
This was seriously the best burger I have ever had in my entire life!
I'm hungry!!!! Those recipes are yummy!!!!
1 lb ground beef
1/2 large white onion, diced fairly small
3 TB Worcestershire Sauce
2 tsp Chili Powder
2 tsp Garlic Powder
Salt and freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
Mix together well and form into patties, then get your grill on!! :)
i used to make them just with the packet of lipton onion soup mix...but my hubby has his own "secret" recipe....i don't know what he puts in them but they are really good!
we have a burger press from Crate & Barrel, so he will make a bunch of patties at once and freeze them....
jackie, i thought you were a vegetarian?
i started eating some meat....when i was pregnant (both times)...because you're supposed to limit your soy intake....so i've still been eating some here and there, and now the meatless patties too since i'm not pregnant anymore....
I found a great turkey burger recipe that DH and I tried last night......FANTASTIC!
ground turkeycrushed red peppersoreganobasilCombine all indredients (I totally guessed on the amounts of peppers, oregano and basil), form into patties and cook for about 6 min or George Foreman grill.
We put them on whole wheat english muffins with a slice of american cheese and some mustard. TWO burgers (english muffins and all) was only about 640 cal! Delish, filling AND healthy!
We make turkey burgers ALL the time. I don't have an exact recipe because I just do it based off of taste.
package of ground turkey
They also freeze extremely well. When we make them, we top them with garlic & herb laughing cow, mixed greens and cooked onions and peppers. They're so good that we don't EVER make beef burgers anymore.
