Pressure Cooker Recipes?

A pressure cooker showed up off my wedding registery...DH must have made some additions that I didn't know about ;-)


Anyways...now that I have it...what the HECK do I do with it? Hubby WILL NOT let me exchange it...he's in love!

Errr... I'm afraid of them, but I think you can cook just about anything in them, only faster! My high school boyfriend's mom used to make rice in hers all the time. Lots of info here: http://missvickie.com/workshop/schoolframe.html

I've never used one (I'm loyal to my crockpot).  But my boss raves about cooking a whole chicken in there.  She said it cooks fast, the meat is super tender, then I think she uses the juices to make stock(?).

I use a pressure cooker everyday! Cooks everything at a faction of the original time. For example, boils a load of taters in 5 mins; Cooks unsoaked red kidney beans in 25mins, soaked beans in 10mins. For all recipes, where stove top cooking will take a long time, like soups, stews and boiling lentils etc, a pressure cooker really cuts down on the time and hence the energy consumption.
