Stick-Blender Latte! Yum!

I'm always trying to find ways to make coffee-drinks at home without getting an expensive espresso machine.

Tried this, it works GREAT, and I thought I'd share :)

For the espresso, I have one of those stove top espresso machines.  Get one!  They are like, $10-$20 and work great.

And for the milk (always the problem I run into - never can get that foamy sweet milk) since I don't have a steamer, I found out that the same effect is created if you use a stick blender!

In a sauce pan, I heat the milk over med / med-high heat, stirring slowly.  Halfway through, stick blender it for about a 30 seconds.  It will get all foamy and airy and yummy. . .

Pour the milk into a latte mug, then top with the foam.  Add a shot or two of slow-brewed espresso (the trick with the stove top espresso is to not let the water boil!  It's slow - do it over med-low heat).

Wah-lah.

Stick blender latte.  LOL!

You could add a syrup if you wanted - vanilla, hazelnut, etc. . .

I use mine for EVERYTHING.  It's awesome. . . especially for making small batches of soup or sauces.

i use our emersion blender for smoothies all the time! cleanup is so much easier than using a blender! if you're using frozen berries, just make sure they are slightly defrosted first...
