Accessories for the Bride

Your wedding day will be one of the most important days of your life.  Not only should you be surrounded by your closest family and friends – but you should have a blast and look spectacular!  Accessories for the bride are a must, whether you are going with the traditional white wedding or something unique and one-of-a-kind.  Here are some gorgeous accessory ideas that will help you polish that stunning ‘blushing bride’ look.

Bling Bling

Your jewelry should be selected once you’ve purchased your gown.  The decision to wear or not wear a necklace can be made by the neckline of the gown.  If it dips low, it may be the perfect frame for a charming pendant.  However, if the neckline is high, you may want to stick with beautiful earrings and a bracelet.  From dripping diamonds and pearls to sparkling gold, emeralds and more – there are many options when it comes to jewelry accessories for the bride.

Headpieces add another element of beauty and decoration to the bride, from sparkling tiaras to jeweled hair clips.  Tiaras generally look gorgeous with classic updos, and may or may not be paired with a veil.  If the plan is to leave the hair down, a subtle tiara can be charming, but beware of adding too many accessories for a casual, natural look.

Sometimes, the best accessories for the bride are never seen by the guests.  Again, you should start with the dress so you know which undergarments are appropriate.  For instance, a strapless dress may require a supportive bustier – both to flatten any undesirable curves and accentuate the sexy ones!  For a thin, clinging or fitted dress, choose a bustier that is seamless so it will never be noticed.

If your dress is very low in the back and a normal bustier or brassiere won’t do, try an adhesive bra with no back to support and provide comfort under your gown.  If you’re looking for a little extra support in the stomach, butt and thigh areas, check out the spandex or other supportive ‘pant’ styles available.  You want to look beautiful on your big day, but you also want to feel confident and comfortable – for this reason, undergarments can be the best types of accessories for the bride!

Choose your shoes on the same day you purchase your dress.  It’s important because the dress may need to be altered in length depending upon the shoes you choose.  Go for comfort and style. For floor-length gowns, the shoes will be the last things your guests notice.  If your dress will be shorter, you will want to pay more attention to the shoes you choose and if they’re not fit for hours of dancing and mingling, spring for a matching pair which is more comfortable.  You can change after the ceremony and still look great!

Accessories for the bride are fun to shop for, and will all come together to create a beautiful, polished look for your wedding day.
