Wedding day jitters seem to only get worse the closer it gets to the big day.  When your nerves start to get the best of you and you're on the verge of losing your sanity, take a quick break and escape from your worries.  A 5-minute meditation can help you regain control and let go of your stress.  The best thing is - you can do it anywhere, anytime to immediately feel refreshed and renewed.


Get Comfortable 


The most essential part of a worthwhile 5-minute meditation is the right location.  Choose a quiet room or a spot where you're the least likely to be interrupted.  Sit down in a comfortable position if it's possible, if not, you can stand as you meditate.  Relax every single muscle in your body and concentrate on releasing your tension.


Focus


Concentration is just as important as location.  Close your eyes, empty your mind, and forget about everything around you - especially the wedding.  If you're in a noisy area, try a soothing tune on your iPod to help you relax.  Focus on letting go of your stress and nothing else.


Just Breathe


The final step of your 5-minute meditation is to soothe your body with oxygen.  Deep breathing will cleanse your body and mind, melting away stress, when you allow it.  With your eyes closed and your body relaxed, breathe in slowly.  As you fill your lungs, focus your mind on the renewing energy you're taking in.  Think of inspiration and relaxation and imagine the feeling of that energy flowing throughout your body with your breath. 



As you slowly release the air from your lungs, focus on letting go of your worries.  Imagine the negative feelings and stress leaving your body with the air as you continue to breathe out.  Let go of any anger or fear that may be clouding your judgment and let your body relax completely.


Keep breathing, slowly and deeply, in and out.  Don't think of anything except the positive energy going in and the negative going out.  Keep your eyes closed and your muscles loose, forgetting everything around you.


You will be amazed at how much better you'll feel after just a few deep breaths!  This quick and easy 5-minute meditation can even be done right before you walk down the aisle to put an end to any last minute wedding jitters.
