DIY: Fresh Flower Hair Accessory

Project and Photos by Brittni Mehlhoff

Adorn your 'do with fresh flowers at your rehearsal dinner, bridal shower, or even your wedding day. This quick and easy flower hair accessory will only take a few minutes to make and is the perfect way to get teh bridal party involved in day-of activities.

  • Hair clip (with flat back)
  • Hot glue gun
  • Scissors
  • 6-12 inches of ribbon
  • Lavender cremons or mums
  • Dusty miller

How To:

Step One: Remove two or three leaves of dusty miller from a larger stem.

Step Two: Using a glue gun, attach the leaves to one side of the hair clip.

Step Three: Next, cut the stem off a large cremon at the base. Note: Be sure to cut as flush as possible. A flat surface will be easier to adhere to the hair clip.

Step Four: Attach the big bloom to the opposite side of the hair clip with hot glue.

Step Five: Lastly, cut a short section of ribbon. Then attach it to the clip in between the flower and the leaves. Wait a few minutes for the glue to cool and it is ready to use.

This fresh floral headpiece would be the perfect addition to an updo at a spring wedding!
