Some people think displaying wedding photos around the house is tacky... but it's not! Here are some ideas on how to tastefully show off the gorgeous images of your big day.
A Real Bride's Dilemma:
How many do you have hanging in your house? I tell everyone I want to put our wedding pics (once we actually get married lol) ALL over our house. I figure you spend so much time and money on it, you may as well display it! FMIL made a comment about this being tacky. (no surprise there.) I was just at my friend's house this morning and I noticed she had probably 5 or 6 displayed just in her living room and I LOVED it. What do you think? Too much?
Tip #1 - Do what YOU want
I say do whatever YOU want to do and ignore all other opinions, especially over something so personal...it's the home you are building with your future husband and wedding pictures are a great reminder of a huge day in your life. ALSO, great news...pictures can be taken down.
Tip #2 - Artistic Shelf Displays
I'm in the same boat. I want to do one wall with 3 shelves holding various sizes of pictures leaning against the wall. My husband says it's going to look like a shrine to our wedding. I got the idea from Pottery Barn. Go ahead and do it if you want.
Tip #3 - Collages
We have a couple places where we display ours.
This is hanging in the living room:
This is on display in our dining room area:
And this is also in our living room. It's not technically photos. The top box contains petals from the flower arrangements I did, our programs we created, vows we wrote ourselves, invitations we designed and the fabric from the ring bearer pillow.
The bottom box is from our honeymoon containing various photos, money, our japan rail passes, tickets to the Ghibli, Sumo wrestling programs, subway tickets, hotel matchbooks and folded cranes that were waiting for us in our hotel rooms.
