PWer PinkTaco had a simple, fun, and colorful September wedding.
At her reception, shades of pink, coral, yellow, and orange provided a festive atmosphere, with details inspired by the culture and colors of Singapore.
Each table had coral and pink linens with a multi-colored arrangement of roses and leaves in a small vase as the centerpiece. White lights were strung overhead, and met in the middle of the hall with a cluster of beautiful lanterns; parasols hung from the ceiling completed the look.

Unique Wedding Cakes:
Since a wedding is an expression of the bride and groom's personalities and style, it makes sense that couples are choosing unique wedding cakes that reflect the mood they want to create at their celebration. These days, bakeries can create a gallery of unique wedding cakes that are both delightful to look at and delicious to eat ... if you can bring yourself to cut into them!
Unique wedding cakes can be creative variations on the classic, tiered wedding cake. Instead of round layers, try squares, triangles, hearts, hexagons, or a combination of several shapes. In place of white or other monochromatic icing, alternate colors from tier to tier - or try a kaleidoscope of icing shades that can transform the most basic surfaces into eye-catching unique wedding cakes.
Unique wedding cakes - have fun with flavors!
Another way to make wedding cakes distinctive is flavor. The most common wedding cake flavors are vanilla, carrot, chocolate, lemon and cheesecake. Unique weddings cakes can mix it up by having each layer of the cake be a different flavor, or use more unusual (but no less tasty!) flavors like almond, spice or chocolate raspberry.
Thanks to edible "clays" like pastillage, fondant, marzipan and gum paste, bakers can produce unique wedding cakes and decorations in any shape imaginable. Couples interested in unique wedding cakes should consult with pastry chefs and look at photos of cakes they've made. You might have an idea of what the ideal cake should look like, but keep an open mind and listen to the professional bakers who specialize in unique wedding cakes, as they'll probably have many helpful ideas of their own.
Having a garden wedding? It's customary to have some flowers on a wedding cake, but unique wedding cakes fashioned to look like an enormous, blooming bouquet of flowers would be a perfect complement to an outdoor setting. The flowers can be in a tasty basket, a pot or sprouting out of the top of a conventional cake layer. An edible burst of springtime blossoms would also be a terrific treat at a winter wedding when the winter is chilly and guests are stranded indoors.
Couples looking "outside the box" at unique wedding cakes might appreciate a cake shaped like a pillar of elaborately wrapped gift boxes. Many brides feel like princesses on their wedding day, so they may consider unique wedding cakes shaped like fairy tale castles. Theme weddings might also inform choices for unique wedding cakes, such as a lighthouse-shaped cake for a seaside theme or an Art Deco-era skyscraper for a retro-styled wedding reception.
There's also a stunning and delicious unique wedding cake that really isn't a cake at all: croquembouche, a traditional French wedding pastry that's been popular at weddings there since the 18th century. Couples thinking about unique wedding cakes might want to consider this mouth-watering, towering cone of cream-filled choux pastry (also called profiteroles) that's coated and held together with threads of hardened caramel. In French, croque en bouche means "crunch in the mouth," which is how it feels when you take a yummy bite out of this unique wedding cake.
PWer Combes2Be had a simple, romantic, and full hand-tied bouquet of lush red roses.
For contrast, her bridesmaids carried smaller bouquets made up of red, yellow, pink, and orange roses.
This is a simple, budget friendly, elegant, and beautiful look!

Square Wedding Cakes:
There's nothing "square" about square wedding cakes, which are catching on with couples looking for a contemporary new "angle" on the traditional wedding cake. By replacing conventional round tiers with cornered layers, square wedding cakes offer a modern and elegant variation on the classic cake style.
Square wedding cakes can be decorated in as many ways as round ones and offer new possibilities for outstanding, attention-grabbing designs. Many couples incorporate their wedding colors or theme decorations into the ornamentation on their square wedding cakes. Square wedding cakes can be especially striking when part of a black-and-white color scheme.
One particularly unique look for square wedding cakes is for them to be decorated to look like a stack of elaborately wrapped gifts. When this is done, each layer has its own color and design, complete with intricate ribbons and bows. Another popular look for square wedding cakes is for each layer to be set at a different angle, so that they're not stacked straight one on top of another. Couples looking for a little whimsy might ask the pastry chef to make one of the layers look a bit precarious, as if it might tip over. Square wedding cakes might also include one or more layers of a different shape for some clever contrast - hexagons are another angular shape that would work well in this manner.
Rolled fondant icing - a combination of sugar, corn syrup and gelatin that's placed over the cake like a pie crust, then trimmed and decorated - can be used to create smooth, angled corners that heighten the fresh, clean impression made by square wedding cakes. Buttercream frosting also works nicely with square wedding cakes, although fondant, with its dramatic, picture perfect finish, is a more common choice these days.
It's customary for square wedding cakes to be of graduated size, starting with the smallest layer on the top, the same as with round cakes. Many square wedding cakes place the layers directly on top of one another, and in many cases a decorative border of some sort is put in between each of the layer, right where they meet, for a more geometric, Art Deco-like appearance. Another option is to use pillars to separate one layer from another. Flowers or other decorations can be put in between each layer, or the pillared space can be left open.
An appealing variation on large square wedding cakes that's gaining in popularity is serving mini square wedding cakes. These are relatively easy to prepare and can offer more design opportunities than one large cake. Some couples serve mini wedding cakes in addition to having a larger, more formal cake - mini square wedding cakes can be decorated to match a larger cake or in different colors and patterns.
In addition their more modern appearance, one notable advantage to square wedding cakes is that they're easier to cut than round cakes, so it will take less time for the cake to be ready to be served to wedding guests. Also, the square shape generally yields more servings in square wedding cakes than similarly-sized round cakes, which could result in some savings in the wedding budget.
