  • PWer Aug_09_Bride had a festive, colorful, and fresh 3-Tier square cake.

Each tier was separated by a riser and then offset, which created an interesting 'twist' on traditional square stacking.  Bright teal ribbons, pink and orange Gerbera daisies, pink roses, and a delicate hand-piped design gave the cake a fresh and elegant summer look.

The bride says:  The cake was frosted with Butter Cream frosting. There were 3 layers; 2 layers were Chocolate Baileys and the largest layer was Strawberries and Champagne. My favorite was the Strawberries and Champagne because the cake was light and the filling had fresh strawberries. It was nice and light for a summer afternoon wedding.

  • If you're having a theme wedding, there's no better way to set the stage for your affair than to have your wedding invitations or save the date wedding magnets reflect that theme. Give your guests a taste of what's to come with carefully chosen stationery. Any theme can be incorporated into your invitation design. Below are only a few of the endless theme wedding invitation options.

    Theme Wedding Invitations: Fairytale Romance

Fairytale-themed wedding invitations should evoke storybook romance. Use ornate scripted fonts, images or watermarks of castles, crowns or carriages, and use romantic textures like ribbon and lace. Because of the fantasy element of fairytales, you can dress up your invitations with sparkle and glamour; rhinestone additions might tie in a jeweled detail found throughout your wedding. Consider using a scroll-style invitation or program, tied with ribbon and incorporating delicate layers of vellum or rice paper.

    Theme Wedding Invitations: Celtic Wedding

Embrace your wedding's Celtic theme by using motifs and symbols reflective of your day. An embossed Celtic claddagh design, a series of love knots, or a Celtic-knot border all tie in the theme subtly and would work with any traditional design. Add your family's tartan, scenic photography or a Gaelic proverb to further establish the theme.

    Theme Wedding Invitations: Winter Wonderland

Some winter weddings use the season as their theme. Considering you'll be sending out your invitations in the fall, you can capture the anticipation of snowfall in your stationary. Use pearl white paper, incorporate a snowflake into a custom monogram, and place strategic rhinestones to appear as snow or stars in a winter sky. Wintery photography works well, as does using a crisp black-and-white scheme. If you're having a holiday affair, you may opt to include metallics and seasonal colors or a graphic that references Christmas, New Year's or Valentine's Day.

    Theme Wedding Invitations: Western Wedding

Create a cowboy-friendly invitation using natural colors and nontraditional layouts. Find a font that references the Wild West, use a leather-like ribbon to tie your invitations, and use graphics or photography that capture a western feel. Boots, a cowboy hat, horses, tumbleweed, a saloon's swinging door and the open range all make for great watermark options. Consider designing your theme wedding invitations to look like "Wanted" posters. A Western-wedding invitation can be creative and fun.

    Theme Wedding Invitations: Childhood Sweethearts

If your wedding is a celebration of long-time love, use a photograph of the two of you as children as part of the invitation's design. Your guests will love the sweet peek at your past, and you'll have set the tone for a nostalgic innocence in your wedding. Illustrations of the two of you and passages from children's books will charm everyone who reads the invite. Use your invitations as a chance to tell part of your love story.

    Theme Wedding Invitations: Destination Affair

If you're getting married far from home, use your invitations to introduce your guests to destination. Choose tropical flowers and vibrant colors for a Caribbean event, or opt for tranquil blues and seaside motifs for a wedding by the sea. A Parisian ceremony might dictate a graphic Eiffel Tower and bilingual wording. As the wedding itself will likely be casual, be creative with your invitations and incorporate unique textures and destination-specific photos and color palettes.

  • Wedding invitations should reflect the wedding they're announcing. Because of this, traditional invitations aren't always the appropriate choice. For modern couples planning nontraditional affairs, standard white engraved cards won't make sense with their design aesthetic. Consider the following when considering modern wedding invitations.

    Modern Wedding Invitations: Layout

The pocketfold layout is a more modern evolution in traditional invitation design. By attaching a pocket to an invitation panel, invitation inserts are organized and kept together in one place. Play with the layout of your modern wedding invitations to find a design that meets your needs; using complementary classic colors will keep this design more formal, whereas contrasting colors or patterns will add a hipper dimension to the card.

Choose a font style that isn't typical of traditional design. Simple handwritten fonts or boxier typefaces are modern alternatives to formal scripts. Coordinating monograms and watermarks can keep your invitations formal without sacrificing the modern look. Consider printing your text entirely in lower case or upper case, or align the text to the left or right instead of the center. Break with convention and avoid symmetry.

Modern Wedding Invitations: Shapes and Graphics

Modern wedding invitation designs often appeal to couples favoring streamlined minimalist design. Consider simple bold lines and shapes; geometric shapes and cutouts provide a wow factor. Sleek monograms, tone-on-tone graphics and pop-art-inspired motifs each add a fresh twist to conventional invitations. Combine a bold floral print with a clean border to keep your invitations clean and modern. Use artistic angles, rotating shapes from their traditional alignment. If you're new to modern design, consider working with a designer or predesigned modern card rather than constructing one yourself. With the help of the experts, you'll be able to add personal touches like photography or destination-appropriate details.

    Modern Wedding Invitations: Color

Modern wedding invitations can accommodate almost any color palette. Don't feel constrained to light or neutral paper choices; a light font on dark stationery can be a clean fashionable choice. Metallics, bold turquoises, greens and oranges are all current color trends. Tone-on-tone color is a subtle way to use bold hues, with different sheens and textures differentiating them. Unexpected colors in an otherwise traditional design can be an effective way of maintaining formality in your modern wedding invitations. Incorporate your wedding colors to make your invitations blend in with the overall scheme of the day.

    Modern Wedding Invitations: Eco-Chic

Eco-friendly design is a major trend in modern wedding invitations. Select paper-free biodegradable papers and environmentally aware printing options. Keep fonts simple and clean while incorporating recyclable materials such as ribbons made from recycled bottles. With a booming eco-chic wedding movement, you'll have no problem finding retailers prepared to create your dream modern wedding invitations with the planet in mind. Streamline your invitation inserts; by opting to have guests respond via phone or email instead of sending a response card, you'll also minimize the bulk in your invites, which further contributes to the minimalism of the modern aesthetic.

  • Atlanta Wedding Favors

The wedding favor is a gift from the bride and groom that is given to guests to take home as a memory of their special occasion. Traditional options include candles and a decorative bag of Jordan almonds. However, more couples are incorporating their shared interests and city pride into their wedding favors.

    Fun Atlanta Wedding Favors

Since Atlanta is home to one of the most iconic sodas in the world, a quirky wedding favor idea is to pay homage to the city's World of Coca-Cola. Atlanta natives may get a kick out of toasting with personalized keepsakes in the shape of Coca Cola bottles, featuring the faces of the newlyweds alongside customized messages. Since peach trees are plentiful in Atlanta, fresh peaches also make fun (and tasty) local Atlanta wedding favors. Perhaps you can incorporate a favorite sporting team, such as the Atlanta Hawks, Atlanta Braves, or the Atlanta Falcons.

Unique Atlanta Wedding Favors: Do Me a Favor

A wedding party isn’t a party without the proper wedding favors to send guests home in the right spirit. From personalized Frisbees to bottled water with a comical picture of the bride and groom, Do Me a Favor's owner, Regina Robinson, has been in the business for more than 10 years. The company not only supplies unique Atlanta wedding favors, but also designs custom invitations, theme party décor, handcrafted greeting cards, and helps with event planning. If you have a special wedding theme in mind, you might want to hire Do Me a Favor for more than just the take-home keepsakes.

Personalized Atlanta Wedding Favors: Escape Concepts

Escape Concepts recognizes the ever-changing trends of wedding favors and they supply in-demand items, like disposable cameras. Choose from a range of decorative camera options, including butterflies, cherry blossoms, double hearts, and daisies. You can even select personalized cameras to decorate tables, creating the perfect keepsakes. Popular favors for Atlanta weddings include personalized items, such as lollipops, hard candy, and chopsticks.

    The Power of Photo Keepsakes

A picture is worth a thousand words, right? Spread the love by choosing personalized photo keepsakes as your wedding favors. The possibilities are endless, which include blending bride and groom baby pictures, sharing engagement photos, or showing off your silly side. There are also plenty of options for displaying your images, including glass clocks, paperweights, coffee mugs, and photo puzzles.
