    These floral minis are a sweet and unique way to incorporate fresh flowers into your reception décor.

    They're fairly easy to make and can double as favors. Imagine how pretty they'd be situated on top of each place setting!

    Supplies:

    Scissors Floral foam  Small vessel or decorative bowl One large bowl filled with water Hydrangeas and other fresh flowers with small to medium size blooms

    Step One: Cut down a piece of floral foam to fit snug inside the vessel or small, decorative bowl.     Step Two: Once the foam has been cut to size, drop it into a large bowl of water and let it sink to the bottom. After letting it soak for about a minute, place it back into the small vessel, and begin cutting down your fresh flowers. Each stem should be cut at a sharp angle to ensure it can pierce through the foam.     Step Three: Starting in the center and working your way out, begin adding short stems of hydrangea clusters to the arrangement.     Step Four: Once the entire bowl is filled, add additional flowers and fillers. Depending on where they are placed, some stems will need to be slightly longer than others. Add finishing touches with your favorite blooms and fill areas that look sparse.     Styling Tip: When the seasons change, so does floral availability. Just remember, hydrangeas are a key factor for keeping this project simple. The stems are nice and hearty and hold the surrounding florals in place.     These miniature arrangements can also be displayed on a place card table with paper flag table numbers or dispersed with small votive candles along the center of a long banquet table.

    Fringe is still everywhere and I don’t think it's going out of style anytime soon. Traditionally, you take tiny pieces of fringe and cover shapes and large paper mache objects. For this DIY, I will show you a new technique to breeze through fringing anything.     Materials: Tissue Paper Cutting Mat and Rotary Cutter Scissors (or fringing scissors – easier) Elmer’s Glue Poster Board   Step One Lay several sheets of tissue paper flat and fold in half lengthwise. Use your cutting mat, a straight edge and your rotary cutter, to cut strips 2.5” wide across the fold.     Step Two Take each set of strips and unfold. Refold lengthwise.     Step Three Fold in half widthwise and cut fringe on the bottom (not the folded) edge.     Step Four Separate each fringed strip and refold lengthwise. Take your poster board and across the short edge, run a thin bead of glue across the length. Lay a fringed piece across the glue and press lightly to adhere. If the strip isn’t quite long enough to reach, just add pieces as needed. For the next layer add another bead of glue above the first strip and add another strip.     Step Five Repeat until the entire poster board is covered. Let dry.     Step Six Print out letters from your computer. Cut out the letters from the paper. Place each letter on the fringed board, adjusting it so the fringe goes left to right across the letter, and cut loosely around the edge. Once you have the smaller piece, use the template to cut out the shape perfectly.     Step Seven Repeat with remaining letters. Sometimes after cutting, the tops of the letters are missing fringe. Simply add touch up pieces of tissue paper fringe and glue down. Let dry and trim.     Step Eight Use a bunting template to make a fun garland. You can use the fringed poster board to make any shapes you like or keep as is for a fun backdrop or to use as a tray liner. The fringing goes quickly using this method and is less tedious than fringing each shape individually.     Step Nine To make a garland from the letters, simply flip over the pieces and tape down to twine. Here I used washi tape so I can remove and adjust the letters easily after hanging.     photos by hankandhunt.com

    How sweet would it be to have all of your guests sporting a colorful corsage! Here's how to create them.

    Materials: One stem per guest (carnations, roses and dendrobium orchids all work well for this project) Traditional paper florist ribbon Corsage pins A sign with instructions for guests     Directions:   1. Cut each stem down to one inch.   2. Tie ribbon around and trim the ends.     3. Secure with a corsage pin.     4. Arrange on a table cloth or tray with an extra dish of pins and a sign with instructions.     A tip: Prep the flowers the evening before and keep in the fridge until the event.     These corsages will make your guests feel special and will bring color to your photos!     Enjoy!

    Photos By: Chelsea Fuss     You'll Need: Candies (to use as paper weights), balloons, strings, pens and parchment paper.     So our name cards don't fly away, we wrapped the candies in parchment paper and tied with a string.     For a striking visual display, pick a color scheme of 2 or 3 colors to buy the balloons in.     We made place cards with a paper cutter and bone folder (about 2" by 3"). We wrote names and table numbers with a white pen and then created a small hole in the top of the card.     Next, we took the string that was tied to the balloon and pushed it through the hole in the card, then tying the string to the weight.     Guests will carry balloons to their tables (creating a lovely scene!) and then the balloons will serve as table decorations.       Display the balloons at different heights.     You will need a chocolate cake recipe, along with an equally delicious recipe for chocolate ganache which we found here.     Ingredients for this yummy cake typically include unsweetened cocoa, buttermilk, flour, sugar, vanilla extract and baking soda.     For the ganache topping, make sure you have plenty of whipping creme and semisweet chocolate chips.     Always mix your ingredients together well and let sit for a bit!    

    Bundt cake pans. Each of these will serve approx. 5 guests. We like these.

    Tip: Make the cakes ahead of time and freeze them.

    The day of, pour chocolate ganache over the cakes and lift them onto some china plates.

Here is a fun way to present the confetti to your guests; be ready for a colorful shower of love!     Materials: Vellum paper, scissors, a small hole punch, embroidery thread, a needle and a stack of scrapbook paper in your color palette     Step One: The first step is to make the confetti, which is the easiest part but also the most time consuming. I would suggest tackling 20 sheets or so each day over a week. More than that and your hands will get VERY tired. To make the confetti, simply punch holes out of the paper, easy peasy!     Step Two: Next, cut the hearts from your vellum; you will need to cut double the number of confetti packs you hope to make.     Step Three: Once everything is cut, lay the hearts out and top every other one with a handful of confetti. Top the bottom half with another vellum heart.     Step Four: Hold one end of the heart and starting at the bottom, begin hand sewing around the other side with embroidery thread. Make about 7 stitches around. Do not sew these too tight and leave a decent length of thread at the bottom of each heart. Tie once at the bottom, in a lose knot. The idea is to keep the confetti in but to allow your guests to easily pull the thread right out.     Lay out your hearts with a note of instruction for guests to pull the thread and throw up their hearts when it is time. A beautiful shower of bright confetti and iridescent hearts awaits your finale.     Tip: Be sure to check with your venue before planning this project- not all venues allow you to throw confetti or rice. Happy hole punching!

    Using watercolor in your wedding can be an easy way to add both color and pretty artistic flair. Make drink tags, escort cards, or favor labels with these easy instructions.     Materials: You will need watercolor paints, paper tags, a white crayon, a paint brush and water.     Process: Write in your details on the paper tag with a white crayon. I did a combo of table numbers and simple words to show how each would look. Be sure to press firmly with the crayon.     A preview of the finished product. Loving this vibrant orange.     Dip your brush in the water and the paint, before stroking lightly over your tag.     Mix colors and do a couple coats to ensure good texture.
      The watercolors will not adhere to the wax portion of the tag where the crayon has left its mark.

    Paper marbling is a technique that has been around for a long time. The process leaves a beautiful impression on paper giving a high design style to invitations, gift tags and stationery. For your wedding why not take this traditional paper impact a little further by saturating your paint and marbling in a bold, modern and fresh way?     Materials: Heavy stock white paper, 2-3 colors of acrylic paints, a shallow pan and water.     Step One: Begin by dropping each of your paints into the water filled pan. Drip the paints in a straight line one at a time.     Step Two: Using a kitchen skewer, blend the paints together. When you do this some of the paint will rise to the top but (unlike normal marbling) the weight of the paint will allow a majority of it to remain on the bottom of the pan.     Step Three: Holding your paper on both ends make a U shape with it and set it in the water, bottom of the U first. This will prevent any air bubbles from ending up in your final design.     Step Four: Once the paper is entirely in the pan quickly take two fingers and push it toward the bottom of your pan. Swirl it around the bottom of the pan in a circular motion, this is where it picks up the bold saturation.     Step Five: Pull the paper out and let dry for 6-8 hours.     Once the paper is dry, cut it up for tags, seating cards or any other paper-based project you've dreamed up.       Project styling, design concept + photography by Victoria Hudgins

    3. Make considerations

    For your guests, a destination wedding can be significantly more expensive than a domestic affair. Do them a favor and give fair warning – six months at minimum (a year is even better). Also, consider ditching the registry. If you’re not willing to forego gifts completely, include inexpensive items on your wish list.
