By far Darlene had the best selection of dress out of Albuquerque. Everyone was wonderful there. The only bad expierence was I had paid over $200 for my bustle alterations. Let me add my dress was extremely heavy and they used little pins for the bustle, well during the wedding the bustle would not hold at all! Every ten Minutes one of my bridesmaids were trying to fix the bustle!. I could not enjoy our reception because I was trying to hold my dress. For the money I spent and them knowing how heavy my dress was the should have done my bustle another way. Very disappointed!

Classic Party was nice to work with. Once we were able to tell Meredith what our budget was, and she helped us meet that budget. The linens were so nice and clean, and really made the reception hall come together. Picking up and returning was also really easy. I would recommend them again.

Frank is so great to work with. During the consultations, Frank really listed to what I wanted. On the wedding day, pictures were so fun and he kept everyone laughing and having a good time. My husband who doesn't like pictures even had a good time. Frank's quality is the best, in my opinion, for the area and I am so glad we had the privilige of doing business with him. I highly recommend Frank to anyone.

ABC was wonderful to work with. I met with Jenn, the wedding consultant for our cake tasting and she was so helpful. I met with her again 2 weeks before the wedding to finalize everything and she was so helpful. The cake turned out amazing and they really listened to what I wanted. I would definatly recommend them.

“ NWR: Mass Shooting in Albuquerque

I don't know who follows the news, but there was a mass shooting here in town at a corporation. A man walked in killing 3 people immediatly, 6 others transported to the hospital -- 2 are stable, 2 are in the OR, and 2 died at the hospital -- the police believe the shooter killed himself on the scene, but they have part of Alb. on lockdown.

It is very scary to think that happened not too far from here.

you can read more here: http://www.kob.com/article/stories/S1647997.shtml?cat=500

This has hit nationwide on CNN and FoxNews.

My heart is broken for all those involved, and for the families who have lost a loved one today.

“ HONEYMOON LOTTERY ”

Hi ladies,

I know that some of us do not or cannot afford the caribbean dream honeymoons. And some simply prefer a city trip over the beach. I know we are all coming from so many different places and thought it would be nice if each girl presentend her own city as a possible honeymoon destination. It maybe inspiring for some who are still looking for the right place to go. On a honeymoon or just a holiday.

Let's go

I am originally from Berlin  , Germany. Since I was little I loved the city. It is pulsating with life, young, vivid, artistic and colorful. It offers sth for everyone: museumlovers, art freaks, clubbers, romancers, ecc

it has a number of intersting very affordable clubs, lots of museums, art galleries, green sites, theaters, operas, lovely buildings and castles.

It is such a lovely city and I strongly recommend it:-)))

here are some pics

DH and I have never been able to take our honeymoon and we plan to do that for our first year anniversary. My ideas so far are Lake Tahoe, Colorado, but I'm not sure if it's a good time to go. Our trip will be planned around November 13.

How We Met: Ringin' in the New Year(s)

How We Met:
1.1.06

It was a few minutes past midnight when we first laid eyes on each other. Because of mutual friends, we both ended up going to the same New Year's Eve party, and after the clock struck twelve we started talking and ignored everything else going on. But before we knew it, the party was dwindling down. On January first we parted ways, and even though we tried to reconnect throughout 2006, it never worked out (i.e. he wasn't on Facebook yet!).

12.26.06
Skip ahead almost a year when a friend of mine's was getting married a few days later and decided to have her bachelorette party in downtown Albuquerque during a freak blizzard. We all packed up the mini van and headed downtown. At one of the last stops, Maloney's Tavern, I saw Kenny. He was in town again and was out on the town with some friends. After talking and catching up for awhile they realized they were both planning on attending the New Years party a few days later.

01.01.07
When the clock struck midnight we both celebrated the new year, but this time we shared our last first kiss (wow! How cheesy is that?!). A few months later—thanks to Facebook, cell phones, and the Internet—we became an item.

“ The Proposal ” by jeslynn02

Sweet Valentine
How He Proposed:

2.14.09

My flight from Albuquerque to Atlanta on Friday the 13th was supposed to get in at 11:40 pm, but instead I was taxing into the airport at 12:45 am on the 14th. Kenny was there to pick me up, and by just shy of 3 am we arrived at his house in Warner Robins.

On Valentine's Day morning we woke up, after a few hours of sleep, and while I was in a sleepy daze Kenny took my rings off my fingers. Kenny's a fidgeter and often takes off my rings to twiddle around with them, so I didn't think anything of it.

A little while later he put the rings back on my fingers, like he usually does. But as we were laying there I could feel his heart start to race.

We had a running joke about getting married in 2012; don't ask me how or when it started, but two thousand twelve became the "magic" year for us.

So when Kenny said, "Will you marry me tomorrow?" My response was to giggle and say, "no." Then he said, "Will you marry me in 2012?" Since he also always asks me this, I laughed and this time said, "Ha. No. That's too far away." Around this time it felt like his heart was going to beat out of his chest. He then said, "Well, will you marry me sometime?" I said, "Of course!" Then he said, "No. I'm serious. Will you marry me? Look at your hand." I looked at my hand, and instead of the ring he had made me on my finger there was a gorgeous diamond ring. (The ring in the photo above is my ring, taken by Don James, www.donjamesphotography.com)

After lots of crying and giggling, I found out that Kenny not only asked both of my parents for their permission, but he did it back in December!

“ Goin' to the chapel... ” by jeslynn02

Finding an actual location to get married was one of the bigger challenges we faced. I grew up Catholic, but converted to Christianity several years ago, but I don't belong to a church. My fiance is not affiliated with any religion or church. He honestly hasn't been vocal about things he wants with the wedding except that he would rather not get married in a church - his whole family is not religious, but my side of the family is VERY religious - so I found a compromise!

I'm in love with the fact that this chapel looks like a church, feels like a church, but isn't a church; it's exactly where I pictured I'd get married some day!

The Chapel at Hotel Albuquerque:

the bridal suite where I'll get ready (where they took this picture is a GIGANTIC mirror!:

and the chapel (I'm REALLY not a fan of the bows; I'd rather have flowers, I think):
