Bridal BeginningI went to Bridal Beginning for my wedding dress and had a wonderful experience. I will say to the previous reviewer that if you found a dress online for a much cheaper price it was probably a knock off of the real dress that you fell in love with. Personally, I would never purchase a dress online for fear that there would be a problem. Wedding gown designers do not sell their dresses on line, they all sell through an authorized vendor to protect their name and their product. Bridal Beginning was very fair with their pricing and believe me I shopped around. I found that the same dress that I fell in love with was pretty much the same price at every store I called. So lesson to those of you still shopping....be aware of cheap gowns online. Go to Bridal Beginning and get the ACTUAL dress of your dreams. Also, my seamstress Deb was wonderful...my dress looked and felt like it was made just for me after my alterations....she is excellent! I recommend her to everyone who goes there.

Gerard Tomko PhotographyGerard Tomko stands out as the only negative part of our entire wedding process. He will charm you upfront and once you have signed on the dotted line and have given all your money upfront to secure that 10% discount, it all changes.
Some of our experiences included:
1) Being contacted two days before our wedding to extract more money out of us or threatening not to show.
2) Seeing our photographer skip out on most of the reception.
3) Being completely MIA for months after the wedding. I left polite emails, voicemails, messages for months after the wedding to ask about the status of our album. I heard nothing, except a vicious, rude response months later.
4) Needing to engage outside legal resources to finally resolve the issue and received our album, nearly 2 years after the wedding.
Bottom line -- DO NOT BOOK WITH GERARD TOMKO.

flaunt Makeup ArtistrySpending the morning of my wedding with the Flaunt girls was the perfect way to start my perfect day. They were so fun and still professional, really listening to what we wanted based on the trial, the wedding feel, etc. They came to the hair salon to make it easy for us and blended right in with my friends and sisters, keeping us on schedule and in good spirits. They listened when I had colors I brought and wanted, and chose the right colors from their products to finish me up. They did makeup on everyone from age 5-65 and we all looked like ourselves at our best. Chrysti even helped pin boutonnieres on my groomsmen in a pinch! Now that's service.

Bayside LimousinesWe booked a limo bus for our rehearsal lunch/dinner which took place the day before our wedding. The driver picked our wedding party up from the hotel and drove us to the Hibachi Grill in Laurel, MD. We had so much fun! The rehearsal set the tone for the wedding!
After the rehearsal lunch the driver took myself and my bridesmaids to several stores to get any last minute items we would need. We were so grateful for having such a wonderful driver.
The day of the wedding we really did not need the limo driver until after the wedding was over to take myself and my husband back to the hotel. In addition, he was available to take any of our family members back to the hotel if they felt they wanted to leave early.
Overall the staff was extremely helpful and professional, I was very pleased with the limo shuttle and the actual limo for the wedding. All of the limos, shuttles and dodge charger limos look wonderful on site! The owner is all about customer service and really takes the time to talk to you if you are unsure about how much time is needed for renting the vehicles. In addition, he gives honest suggestions about what you may need on your special day.
I definetly would book Bayside again and would recommend this company to anyone inquiring about professional and quality service!
Thanks again Bayside!

He is back, he came back about 15 minutes ago. I had no place else to turn except FB and PW. The moment I realized he was gone, after I called the police, my heart dropped into my stomach, and I knew I had to get a prayer chain going.
Right now I am still very emotional, I will let you all know what happened, once I calm down, but I wanted to let you all know that each and every one of you are appreciated, because I know your good thoughts and prayers worked.

This may sound ridiculous, but its so true. i got engaged on new years eve of 2010, and im getting married next sunday..
I've hand made 90% of everything in my wedding, and it has been a wonderful experience, but something that would have made it alot more wonderful ---
A HOT GLUE GUN.
seriously please invest in one of these asap. I JUST got one last week, and im kicking myself for not getting it sooner. it is a miracle. I used to use them, and dont know why i didnt think of it sooner, but please, do yourself a favor, and go invest in a simple, "lo-heat" glue gun at michaels, joanns, hobby lobby, wal mart, wherever for $3, and the glue sticks are $2.50
it will save you so MUCH TIME AND MONEY!!
thats all!
happy planning!

I would love to read what Christmas means to you, send me your thoughts, poems and messages...
I found this poem and thought I would share it with you all!!!!
Recipe for Christmas All Year Long
Take a heap of child-like wonder
That opens up our eyes
To the unexpected gifts in life—
Each day a sweet surprise.
Mix in fond appreciation
For the people whom we know;
Like festive Christmas candles,
Each one has a special glow.
Add some giggles and some laughter,
A dash of Christmas food,
(Amazing how a piece of pie
Improves our attitude!)
Stir it all with human kindness;
Wrap it up in love and peace,
Decorate with optimism, and
Our joy will never cease.
If we use this healthy recipe,
We know we will remember
To be in the Christmas spirit,
Even when it's not December.

What's the top item on your holiday gift list that you REALLY want?
I REALLY want this ring. Not cuz it's a replica of Kate's, but cuz it's my daughter's birthstone.

This is what started it all =). This Vera Bradley tie (Beakgaard Collection, Peacock) caught my eye in an issue of modern bride and I just fell in love. I immediately called every Vera Bradley store in the country (okay, 3 stores...) trying to
hunt down 5 of these ties! I also ended up getting silk squares in the pattern too. I'm not too sure if I'll let the guys wear the pocket squares, or use them to wrap the BM bouquets.
This picture is a little off...the areas that look
almost yellow are acutally more of muted lime.
I bought a cloth wrap in the same print to wrap around my bouquet. It's long enough to hang down a little so the bright paisley will look awesome against the white of my dress and I love the
fact I'll have something that matches what the hubby will be wearing =).

Helpful tips that I've learned
1. Go to Wedding Expos! They are inexpensive to attend (ranging from $10-$20), you meet all your local vendors, get discounts from most for just talking to them, and you can win prizes if you register in
advance for each expo you attend (I attended one and won a Best Man Tuxedo, Free dance lessons for 6 people, discounts on engraving items, hair cut/highlights, and just today got a call from a local gym notifying me that I won a 14 day trial or $100
discount towards a membership). However, the best part is sampling all the yummy cakes, and tasty wine. *The only downside might be how many flyers you get sent in the mail regarding local wedding venues and vendors in your area, after having
registered and attended the expo ( BUT if it's a letter stating that you are a receipient of a prize, than that's good...Mmmm...VERY Good :)
2. Interested in preserving your wedding bouquet? Ever heard of such a thing? Check this site out! It's
a company that offers preservation of flower arrangements, and is based in Northern California.

3. Are you a solo artist, and planning your own wedding (slowly, but
surely) or have a Wedding Planner because you think you couldn't make your own dreams come true? Here is a helpful site that I found, it really tries to promote a Wedding Planning Book, but do what I did and register for the weekly newsletter, and
get some free tips!

Well, we met a few years ago at the Wesley Foundation, an on-campus college ministry, and instantly became friends. Neither of us wanted to jump into a relationship too quickly, and he was also activated with the National Guard at the time, so he was down in New Orleans a lot. So we became great friends and it all just grew from there! We've definitely had our ups and downs, but the bad times have just made us so much stronger. I'm so lucky to be marrying my best friend!
