The Ultimate Charlotte Wedding Planning Resource

David's Bridal (Charlotte, NC)David's Bridal Tallahassee was the worst bridal salon I have ever been to. I am a size 20 bride. The consultant (when I could FIND her) kept bringing me size 12 and 14 dresses to try on. I asked her to just bring me the size 20s because I needed to know what the dresses looked like fully zipped/buttoned up. I know they had size 20s in stock to try on because I went to the floor myself and picked out about 5-6 dresses before I went to the fitting rooms. After 45 minutes in the store and her only bringing me 2 dresses to to try on, my bridesmaids sensed the anger and took over. The consultant completely disappeared. When I finished trying on dresses and found 'The One', I couldn't find anyone to help me order it! I wound up buyin a David's Bridal dress used on eBay because I REFUSED to purchase a dress or any other accessory from them. I would NOT recommend David's Bridal Tallahassee to anyone.

FrontPorch FarmsMy daughter was married at Front Porch Farms just one week ago. It was a breathtaking and memorable weekend. Not only is the venue beautiful, but Kathy and her recommended vendors were great at creating the look and atmosphere that was my daughter's vision for the day. I travelled from L.A. for the wedding and so had not been very directly involved with the planning. I am so happy to say that when I arrived at Front Porch Farms the day before the wedding, I was treated like family or an old friend by Kathy and Brian. They were very accommodating, but at the same time let us know what they needed to accomplish. They were quick to meet our needs from parking for elderly guests to arranging babysitters for the youngest attendees.
I didn't come away with any negative feelings at all. The wedding was all we hoped it would be. If you want an elegant, country chic wedding that fits your budget, I would not hesitate to recommend Kathy and Front Porch Farms. I read that some people were surprised by "extra" fees. Some rentals are extra - but we knew about them up front. If you are clear about your expectations, I think Brian and Kathy will be fair and clear with you.

Greyson Steele PhotographyLeft my first review after seeing only 10 pictures on on facebook. Those 10 pictures were good but the other 500 were not. They were off centered, had bad lighting, were blurred, dark, and were not at all what we asked for. We wanted traditional pictures and even gave examples of what we wanted. They were told it was a formal wedding and those attending were wearing tuxedos and formal dresses. The photographers showed up in cargo pants/a backwards hat and Capri pants/flip flops which you could hear as the photographer walked up and down the aisle during the ceremony. When they took pictures of my husband and I during the reception they photographers were arguing in front of us. The quality of the pictures are not profession and was not what we were told we were getting. You only get married once and these pictures are not something you can do over. Dont get taken like we did.

DJ Johnny Colvard & CompanyAbsolutely wonderful! Johnny and Vickie were great to work with. They made sure we had everything we requested. I had so many comments from guests about how great our music was! Johnny got out on the floor and showed everybody how to dance to the group dances, which was really great! I would absolutely recommend them to anyone in the Charlotte area!

Looking back on my past, I should have noticed the pattern. I was always planning
something. Be it fundraisers in my local church, fall festivals, putting together birthday parties for family members, holiday parties, or even helping to organize my high school reunion. I would receive compliments from those around me and that was always good enough.
I really honed my skills when I became the Marketing Coordinator for the nation’s second largest hardwood flooring manufacturer. It was my duty to organize meetings; trade shows located anywhere from Charlotte, Las Vegas, and Hawaii, customer events such as training courses, mill tours, and leisure events including the suites at Bristol Motor Speedway. I was responsible for every little detail, from promotional giveaways, activities during the events, exhibit set-ups including booth design, and of course transportation and lodging.
One of the most successful events I planned for this company was a celebration of their 20th Anniversary. While one of our booked entertainers, PGA Golf Pro Fred Funk, was busy entertaining customers on the golf course, I was taking another group down the Watauga River on a tour guided fly-fishing excursion. We topped the night off with a cocktail party and dinner hosted at the Carnegie Hotel in Johnson City. And the feather in our cap was Pro Football Legend Archie Manning as our guest speaker.
I received so many compliments on that particular event. It was a three-day affair with almost 200 in attendance. I planned everything; the seminar location, shipping of equipment, ground transportation for all guests, room accommodations, meals, excursions, and entertainment. It went off without a hitch! That is when I realized, this is what I loved to do, AND I was really good at it.
Now I want to use my attention to detail, creativity, organization and passion to help make your event the best it can possibly be! So, what can Positive Approach Events & Consulting do to help make your experience memorable? EVERYTHING!
