Catfish HouseThe Catfish House in Springfield is a great place for rehearsal dinner. The food is always delicious and served quickly.

Tux Men's WarehouseWe went to the Rivergate location and the man working there was so wonderful! He showed us all the options we could choose from and what colors would look best to match our David's Bridal bridesmaid dresses (if you are planning on going to the Clarksville location, we cannot give a good review)

Hobby LobbyMy mom made my veil for my wedding, and also made most of the favors for the reception and we were able to find everything we needed there. The prices were also wonderful. Great store. We used the Clarksville Indiana location.

Tux Men's WarehouseWe ordered the tux rentals from Men's tux warehouse (located next to David's Bridal in Clarksville). They could not match the color of the bridal party's dresses that we bought at david's bridal to the vests for the tuxes. We ended up having to get all black.

My in-laws are coming in a few weeks so we have to turn our (currently still packed up and messy) guest bedroom into a beautiful room. So we called a painting service our agent recommended, and they came in and gave us such an awesome quote that we actually asked them to do our main floor hall and living room!
We spent all weekend at Guiry's color and decorating to pick our paint colors and buy samples, and after a consultation with the paint lady who gave us the quote, we ended up with colors we never would have picked ourselves. But, she was SO right. . .it really helps to get an expert eye. . .
For starters, our living room. It's currently a shade of 'grey-beige' and at night it turns into a very depressing, drab room. Ick. We wanted to warm it up, and *were* considering a beige color with one orange accent wall.
Well, paint lady came in and said 'no to either of those! The beige will cause the same drab color problem, and between the fireplace and the furniture there is way too much orange. . .go find a rich and warm blue, purple, or green tint gray'
All I can say is that this woman is BRILLIANT, lol! We found a purple-tint gray and it is SO perfect in this room, I can't wait to see the 'after'! You can see the sample on the wall: it's from Benjamin Moore and it's called 'Puddle'
(PLEASE excuse our mess. . .we're known for keeping a really clean/tidy house but after Christmas shopping yesterday the place looks like a warzone, lol!)
I love too how on the half wall behind the TV the purple-gray will break up the orange/yellow tones you see going into the other end of the house. .. .you can see where we put a sample there too, and a sample next to the window.
Then in the hallway, which is currently white, we were considering a taupe. Paint lady said 'nope, because taupe/beige is the same color as your tile. . .if you want contrast, try something in a green or blue neutral tone. . .'
Again, BRILLIANT advice. We ditched the 'taupe/beige' and found a beautiful green-gray that is really warm. . .I can't WAIT to see this go on the walls! Benjamin Moore Clarksville Gray. It's the lighter/top color sample:
White-balance is off in this photo, sorry. . .but that is the same green-gray you see above. . .
The back/stairway hall will stay white (for now) but the wall with the door is going green!
And finally, the guest bedroom. I wanted something natural, but chic, and upscale. So color here was key - I wanted yellow tones in the neutral, and then a really poppy accent color. . .found it last night in a Benjamin Moore color called 'Hodley Red'. That will be paired with 'Shaker Beige' on the other walls.
On the sample, it's the upper right color painted over that horrific russet orange. . .
In this room I'll be using chocolate brown furniture and pillows (I'm getting a really nice slipper chair from Overstock.com) plus glass side tables and eventually I'll redo that headboard (it came from DH, but it looks like it came from Grandma's house. . .lol!)
(hehehe, yes that's my wedding dress on the bed, lol!)
They are coming today to start - I can't wait to see it come together :)

sorry I just had to take a moment...
I am so tired of people telling me that I have a whole year till my wedding. Or that I can wait till later to work on stuff.
They assume I don't have a million other things to do in my regular everyday life.
Not only do I have 3 jobs, i'm trying to coordinate a cross country move (FI is stationed in KY) lose 30 lbs and plan a wedding.
Some stuff I won't be here for if i'm moving, so I'm trying to get as much done now as possible. Not to mention FI deploys in a month, and I will be doing all this by myself for a year!! Plus my date is 11.11.11. That's a popular date.
If I want to plan now, let me plan NOW!!

After going back and forth on where to have the ceremony and reception for several weeks, I explained to Paul that I really wanted to get married in my church. He was very understanding and agreed.
So the ceremony will take place at Harmony Baptist Church in Adams, TN.
After the ceremony it will be time to party!
The recpetion will be at Waterstreet Event Center in Clarksville, TN.
(I will post pictures of both locations later)

Clarksville does not have a huge selection when it comes to reception venues. My brother happened to notice a building being renovated and sign that had been put up in front of it. Waterstreet Events Center! He called with the number and we now have a new venue. It is not open yet and probably will open some time in January. Once they have completed the renovations I will be going back to take a look. I have some pictures that I will share of what it looks like right now during the renovations and use your imagination with this one. It is going to be over 8000 sq ft total. We will have so much room we will not know what to do with ourselves! The other location we were going to be packed in there and I want to be able to move around and still have our dance floor. My pictures are on my desktop computer at home and I will post them as soon as I can. Also... as soon as renovations are complete I will post updated pics.
This is the front entrance. They are going to up up a really nice front door.
This is towards the back of the main room. The whole back wall has windows looking
out over the river.
This is the back room where we will have the rehersal dinner and also where the food will
be for the reception.
This is part of the mulit-leveld deck on the back overlooking the river.
One of the things I really love about this place is that it is on the water. There is a 2-tiered deck on the back and the whole back wall is nothing but windows so you get a great view of the water. There is also a seperate room in the back where we will have the food set up. So the main room will be nothing more than the tables and dance floor. There are lots of ideas running through my head for decorations. I have been making lots of list trying to get myself organized!
Pictures coming soon.
