Art with Nature Floral DesignKim was amazing. You can tell when you meet her that she is just so passionate about her work and loves what she does! She made our flowers even better than we could have imagined. She is very talented and creative and knows her stuff. I had complete trust in Kim from the beginning!

Jen Disney PhotographyJen was not only the funnest photographer to spend time with, but she quickly let you preview some of the photos. She is hardworking, honest, extremely talented, and so much fun. At our engagement shoot she kept us laughing the whole time and it was the most comfortable photo shoot I have ever done. We quickly got to preview our photos and they took our breath away. At our wedding I never saw her crawling around taking pictures and she did not make the event about her. She worked behind the scenes, got amazing shots, and was flexible with our time frame. She did a great job of keeping everyone on time and where they needed to be. It was through her pictures and professionalism that our photos truly captured each emotion, feeling, and moment in them. I am SO glad I used her as our photographer and I can't imagine having used anyone else. I would recommend her to any and all. She's the best.

Art with Nature Floral DesignKim did an absolutely stunning job! From start to finish everything was amazing. She was one of the best vendors I hired. I found Kim about 6 weeks before my wedding and she immediately put me at ease. I interviewed a ton of florists and she was the only one i felt who really listened and got the look i was going for. Kim put together gorgeous arrangments with dark fuschia, magenta and orange flowers with lots of greenery. On the day of my wedding when i reached the alter and looked up at the large sprays i was taken aback by how beautiful they were. My bouquet was perfect and all the bridesmaids raved about how pretty all their flowers were. For the centerpieces, i went back and forth with kim on urns and candlesticks...i probably drove her nuts, but the one comment every guest said was that the room looked romantic. Kim decorated our head table so beautifully i had a hard time taking my eyes of the flowers. Everthing was wonderful and guests were thrilled that they could take the flowers home!!! KIM MADE MY DAY!!!

Boffo VideoI had already booked a videographer for my wedding a year before our date. Unfortunately, we had to let them go because I noticed the quality of their work wasn't up to our standards. Thank goodness my cousin/makeup artist is good friends with Paul from Boffo Video! Not only was their work good, they were the same price and they had our date available!
I met with Paul and booked him on the spot after he showed me an entire wedding DVD he had shot. Being a music-lover, I was also excited by how open he was with letting us choose songs for our wedding day video soundtrack.
When our big day arrived - Paul arrived with his associate videographer, dressed up and on time and ready with their professional and non-invasive equipment. They were fun to work with and had a lot of cool approaches to capturing details of our big day.
It's been 10 days since our wedding and Paul has already provided us with a highlight video! I have to admit I teared up as I relived our perfect day! I had him make some edits, which he was able to execute in the same day! Boffo Video is highly recommended for their efficiency, their talent and overall rockin'-ness!

Muckenthaler MansionCollette’s was the third of four bakeries we visited when sampling cakes for our August 27, 2011 wedding.
We selected Collette’s because all of their cakes tasted marvelous!! We ended up doing with two flavours – red velvet with a raspberry filling and then vanilla with a hazelnut filling.
One thing that was great about Collette’s is that they were able to completely sketch out and draw our cake how we wanted it whilst sitting in the room. (They have some great art skills!) It was so wonderful during our consultation to see our cake come to life.
One the day of the wedding, my husband and I received both slices of cake. I honestly could have devoured the entire red velvet tier myself, if my dress had that much breathing space. It was phenomenal! The vanilla layer was good, too, but the hazelnut was a little strong for my taste. My guests (including my mum) had it – and said it was great. And I trust my mum’s opinion that she wasn’t just being nice :)
Our cake looked wonderful. It was one of our favourite things about the wedding! (as soon as I get professional photos, I’ll post!)

Hi Ladies, I got such a great deal on a brand new dress today that I must share and hope that I can help anoter bride on a budget find a great dress they LOVE at an unbelievable price (as I did).
I went to The Dresser in Fullerton, CA. Every so often they have a blow-out sale. Today they offered over 200 dresses priced at $100, $200 or $300. Additionally, they sold bridesmaid dresses @ $25, veils (various prices all less than $100), flowergirls dresses at $40 and Mother of the Bride dresses at a huge discount (my mom bought a $500 dress for $75).
Check out my dress: http://www.projectwedding.com/biography/list/deelim/my-dress
Here's a tip for those interested in going in the future:
1) First things first...get on their email list so you know about the next event. http://thedresser-online.blogspot.com/
I was not on the email list and apparently they emailed everyone an announcement with a 10% discount that you could use on at the blow-out sale.
2) Arrive early and wear clothes that will allow you to slip on and off dresses quickly and easily (I wore a tank top and shorts that I could easily wear a dress over.
2) Go with an open mind and try everything on - even if you think it won't look good on you (I avoided mermaid dresses becuase I thought you had to be tall and slim...I'm not tall nor am I slim and it actually looks good on me...I ended up purchasing a mermaid dress!)
3) All dresses are off the rack
4) They only let 5 brides in a store at a time. But you can bring who you want. Bring atleast one person whose opinion you trust...it's not really necessary to bring an entourage.
5) Bring Cash
6) They have a huge selection. Be careful not to buy just to buy...I had to stop myself from buying something I kinda' liked just becuase it was on sale. My time was up so I had to leave the store empty handed and get back in line. I found my dress on the second visit!
7) Don't be catty-be friendly and courteous and giving. If someone grabs the dress you want...just ask them or the sales lady to give it to you if they decide against it. Since there's only 5 brides at a time the staff will remember and help you. I had so much fun waiting in line getting to know the other brides. And when we got in the store it was such a pleasant experience. I was with the second group of brides and as we waited for the first group of brides to finish shopping you could hear them screaming with joy and laughter. It was soooooooo exciting that when they walked out of the store carrying their purchase everyone yelped and clapped.
8) Bring a small and light bag that you can or your friend/mom can easily carry while grabbing dresses. I had a camera, a notebook, a purse...it was so cumbersome!
9) Don't forget to check out the veils, bridesmaid dresses, flowergirls dresses and mother of the brides dresses. Most likely you won't find 2 of the same kind of dresses so you shouldn't expect to.
I bought a bridal dress, a bridesmaid dress that I'm going to use for my engagement photos and dress rehearsal, a mother of the bride dress, a bridesmaid dress for my sister and bridesmaid dress for my mom that they are going to wear for the holidays. My grand total with tax= $440!!!! Yes not a typo $440!!!
If you definitely can't wait 'til the next event, you should go to the store and check it out. They have a lot of dresses at different price ranges starting around $800.

We are looking for beautifully landscaped outdoor venue for an intimate wedding ceremony where we can have privacy (venue dedicated to just our event).
Any one knows about "Hillcrest Terrace Park" in Fullerton? I've not seen it in
person yet, wondering how nice it is.

I'm looking for some places to take our first look photos...and other photos as well. Any Suggestions? We are getting married in Fullerton at the almuni house, so any place that is close by would be great. I figured we can take some on the campus, but I don't really know what the campus looks like. Fullerton Wedding Bios
My husband and I had been dating for two and a half years when we decided to get married. A beautiful proposal and a beautiful diamond ring followed. We started planning and my parents starting paying. My father soon lost his job and we decided to look for a smaller, cheaper place and decided to go 60/40. we found one and started planning the wedding for the second time. well, my dad (bless his heart) wasn't too honest about his financial situation because he didn't want to worry me. When i found out (through my brother), we called the wedding off because we thought it was ridiculous that they contribute to something when they could barely afford to live comfortably (gotta love socal. *rolls eyes*). We got married at LAX courthouse on January 12th 2007. Just us two. My parents knew and gave their blessing. We just wanted to be married and all the planning and cancelling was beginning to ruin the wedding fantasy. We decided to focus on what was more important, marriage. Well. . we've been married nearly 7 months, my father found a new job, and my mother had a breakdown about how she is upset she didnt get to go wedding shopping with her only daughter, how we deserved more than the civil union (i took care of both of my parents when they had cancer at the same time. and they are eternally grateful), etc. I told her not to be silly about me deserving better. They didn't owe me anything. But then she told me that we all deserved this. She deserved to fufill her duty as a mum to pick out a dress with me, get excited about the big day and gloat to everyone who would listen. My father deserved to walk me down the aisle in his dress blues (retired USN baby! love my dad!). My husband and I deserved to have a day just reserved for us to share out love with one another and celebrate everything we had been through together. So, here it is. May 31st, 2008. We are renewing our vows at the Muckenthaler Cultural Center in Fullerton and I couldn't be happier. It's so much more fun this time because I know finances aren't an issue (we're super-contributing!) and since I am already married i'm not stuck on that crazy "this has to be the best day of my life" shpiel that a lot of brides get into. This is simply a fun and loving way to say thank you to my parents and my husband for the joy that being a family has bought to me. And it's their way of saying thank you to me. I can't wait!

Our wedding will be at the Anaheim Marriott on April 4, 2009. Our colors are medium red, black, and white. We are using the damask pattern in different places and will add red as a pop color. We are using Michael Miller
Dandy Damask as our damask since there are so many different ones.
Ceremony
We are an interfaith, interracial, inter everything couple so we needed to find someone who could perform a tricky ceremony. We are both not very religious but we have parents who want to have their culture represented. We found Jon Dobrer, who is the Reverend at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Fullerton. http://www.uufullerton.org/upcoming_sermons.php
We are having the ceremony at the hotel in the rooms next to our reception room. What they will do is make a narrow room with one air wall and they will open up all the other air walls in between to make one giant rectangle. I will walk down the middle of the room to the center stage at the end of the rooms. We will be having six columns with large flower displays on the top. The white aisle will have silk red rose petals along the sides. My future mother-in-law is Sylvia Drew, and she is a leading event coordinator and florist in Tucson. http://www.creativearrangements.com/
She will be designing the centerpieces and many other arrangements around the room, including the Chuppah arrangements. Mari Trefry will also be creating flowers for the event. http://www.halcyondaisies.com/Welcome%20.html Mari will be creating the bride's
bouquet, and the rest of the bridal party's flowers. She will also be creating the large displays for the ceremony room.
Reception
Centerpieces - the centerpieces will be square 7-inch vases with many, many red roses. The vases will have black satin ribbon around it with a rhinestone buckle attached. They will sit on a damask runner. The table cloth is a white crinkle satin and the napkins are black and white satin. We will fold them so the menus will fit inside. I've opted to not have wedding favors and instead make three donations to different charities based on the cancers that have greatly affected my family.
Resources
I've bought the following items from www.etsy.com
Ring Bearer Pillow in Damask
Guest Book in Damask
Personalized Rubber Stamps for the back of the Save the Date Envelope
We created our Save the Date and are going to submit it to www.pioneercolor.com
I've also bought Pioneer Photo Boxes from www.organizedliving.com

On 9/11 (I know..) after three magnificent years of loving each other, Kevin proposed. I was so shocked that I didn't even have any emotion whatsoever.. but it was fabulous. Then he surprised me and whisked me away to San Francisco for the weekend, because he's the best. His surprises always amaze me!
Our wedding will be May 8, 2009: Ceremony in Santa Ana, CA and Reception in Fullerton, CA.
I can't wait for our life to be perfect and to be his wife, because then I'll truly be the luckiest girl in the world!
picture from his proposal!
