Galveston Wedding
The Ultimate Galveston Wedding Planning Resource

DJ Rob EntertainmentDJ Rob was the best! Our wedding was in Galveston in September of 2010. He arrived on time, dressed well, and was super polite and funny! He played EXACTLY the songs I wanted, including a song that was by a not so well known composer. He found it for me! He's the best!

Tremont HouseMy husband and I had our wedding at the Beautiful Historic Tremont House on the Rooftop Terrance, and had our Reception in the huge Davidson Ballroom located in the Davidson Building across the street. Shanael the Catering Coordinator there, worked alongside my Event Planner Joy to make our day a memorable one. I believe they handled everything perfectly! I never had to worry that anything was going to be wrong! We knew from the first moment we walked inside that it was for us. I honestly couldn't even imagine having our ceremony anywhere else. The Rooftop Terrance is beautiful and classy with unparalleled view of downtown Galveston. The view in and of itself is breathtaking. Our guests got a change to watch the cruise ships leave from dock on their way out to sea while attending the ceremony.
The Davidson Ballroom has a gorgeous view of Downtown Galveston from the 2nd floor where our reception was held. The ballroom had amazing floor to ceiling window with views of the city and gorgeous lighting for great photos. You are able to open the large windows to gain access to the balcony. The room was set up exactly as expected with close attention to details.
They were incredibly flexible as we requested courses that were not offered on the main menu. Everything went flawlessly, our guests raved about the food. Our quests were severed Sirloin Tips in a Cabernet Mushroom Sauce or Palm Spring Chicken Breast. We got the most compliments on the Chicken Breast. There was even a children menu with Chicken Tenders and Macaroni and Cheese. The food was served fresh and hot. The food is AMAZING though. Everyone commented on how delicious it all was. The catering staff did a GREAT job!!! We received a complimentary honeymoon suite the night of the wedding. It was so huge and beautiful. We had chilled champagne and strawberries in our room. The management, staff and catering exceeded our expectations with their professionalism, and genuine concern for each and every detail. All of our guests loved the venue and gave us so many compliments. I loved that I could use their services for everything - catering, bar, valet, security, linens, etc. The facility was pristine and fabulous and breathtakingly beautiful. Compared to other Galveston venues of this same caliber and ambiance, I also think The Tremont House offers the best value. We had a fabulous time and did not want it to end. The Tremont House was everything I dreamed of for my special day!!!

Carnival CruisesHi Every one when I was planning to get married I wanted to do something simple and out of the ordinary! that is exactly what I got. My hussband and I got marrien April 18, 2010 on the carnival's conquest. It was the best thing we have ever done the service was great and everything was planned for us. I was scared at first becasue I didnt know what everything was going to look like but.... everything was beautiful. I was so happy that everything turned out just the way I had dreamed about. I would recommend carnival to just about anyone except if you want a big huge fancy wedding your not going to get that with carnival. It was simple and pretty. My reception to follow was the best part we had an open bar for 2 hours after my wedding before the boat sailed from galveston, Texas. We went to Jamica, Grand Caymen , and Cozemel. I had about 50 people cruise with me and about 86 attend the wedding. It was everything I could have wished for (: Thanks for reading my story,
Megan Kinsey

Carnival CruisesWe left out of Galveston because it was the closest port to us. The staff was great....always there to keep you entertained, answer questions, share stories, and more. The food was awesome...such a variety. The price was very reasonable as it includes all meals and almost all activities on board. If you choose an excursion from them in a port they will wait for you if it runs late... we had experience with that and I am definitely grateful that we booked through them. Our room was cleaned everyday.

How long of a trip did you plan? Were doing 5 nights 6 days
What made you choose your honeymoon spot? We origionally chose Key West but when the travel agent showed us the resort in PR we fell in love! We wanted something tropical looking but no passport needed.

Galveston Wedding Bios
June 13, 2009...we look rough b/c we were just on the edge of the ocean in the wind for an hour.
He looked for the perfect ring secretly for 2 months...custom made a ring, then bought it a month before the proposal and hid it from me (we live together). It was so dark I couldn't see it, but of course I said yes! Later on the phone with my mom, she asked what shape it was...I didn't know haha. It was Oval, PERFECT for me!

Our wedding was scheduled for 9.13.08, but due to Hurricane Ike we are pushing it back. We were hoping that we could still do it this upcoming weekend (9/20/08), but the power all through out Houston is still out. We also felt that with all those families that had to evacuate the coastal region and Galveston will still need to be sheltered in the local hotels, so our out of town guests would not be able to find rooms.
Our tentative date is October 4th. With the church still not having power it has been hard to contact them to see if this will work. So far the latest news is that it’s open, but once the church is reopened they will confirm. Most of our vendors are also available on the 4th which is GREAT! I am still waiting to hear back from our photographer to confirm, but last conversation that I had with him on 9/11/08 he said that Oct 4th was his nearest availability!
My HUSBAND and I did go ahead and get married on 9/13/08 with a very small and quick ceremony at 12:45 am…in hurricane force winds! His parents who we were riding the storm out with were also hosting friends who evacuated from the coast, of which the husband was a pastor. He agreed to marry us so that we would not have to get a new marriage license (ours would have expired on the 20th), and so we could officially LIVE together!!! It was nice and I will post pics as soon as power is restored and I can get them from my MIL’s camera!

given that our reception theme is "texas dancehall", i want to take the time to give some appreciation to our great state!
Texas As Told By Jeff Foxworthy
"Here is what Jeff Foxworthy has to say about folks from Texas ...
If someone in a Lowe's store
offers you assistance and they don't work there, you may live in Texas ;
If you've worn shorts and a parka at the same time, you may live in Texas ;
If you've had a lengthy telephone conversation with someone who dialed
a wrong number, you may live in Texas ;
If 'Vacation' means going anywhere south of Dallas for the weekend, you may live in Texas ;
If you measure distance in hours, you may live in Texas ;
If you know several
people who have hit a deer more than once, you may live in Texas ;
If you install security lights on your house and garage, but leave both unlocked, you may live in Texas ;
If you carry jumper cables in your car and
your wife knows how to use them, you may live in Texas ;
If the speed limit on the highway is 55 mph -- you're going 80 and everybody's passing you, you may live in Texas ;
If you find 60 degrees 'a little
chilly,' you may live in Texas ;
If you actually understand these jokes, and share them with all your Texas friends, you definitely live in Texas or at one time or another lived in Texas or have or hadTexas friends.
