Whyte Icing Specialty CakesWhyte Icing cakes are beautiful and I wanted to work with this baker as soon as I got an engaged. Unfortunately, I never had the opportunity to work with Whyte Icing due to a lack of communication and professionalism. I understand this is a one woman business and it is a demanding time, but I expect to be treated as a valued customer. Phone calls were not answered, messages were not returned, and emails were ignored. I did not bother Whyte Icing over the weekends and gave her days and even weeks to contact me. When I finally did try to set up a consultation date/time, I was told nothing was available and I never heard from her again. Whyte Icing did not even attempt to accommodate me. I have decided to work with another baker who has been nothing but cooperative and professional. I hope all you have better luck with Whyte Icing.

Country DelightsCake was cheap and tasted great, but it was HIDEOUS! She showed me pic of what she could do and my cake looked nothing like the pics. It honestly looked like she was drunk when she piped the pattern. Everytime I look at my wedding pics I literally cringe at that cake, I was so embarrassed. If I knew how I would post a picture. If you are doing a simple shape and maybe some flowers I'm sure she would do a great job, but don't ask for her to pipe designs...you will regret it. I would have respected her more if she had just said she couldn't do it.

Whyte Icing Specialty CakesUnprofessionalism is the reason we didn't go with Whyte Icing. The cakes were beautiful, the price was right but unfortunately every time I had to deal with Jennifer, I got the feeling she felt like she was doing me a favor by taking my money. She always acted like she was too busy for me and my small cake (I have a small wedding) and I don't want a cake not made with love. I passed solely because of her demeanor not because of the cake.
Edit to add: Upon finding this review, Jennifer emailed me a lengthy letter apologizing and explaining how she is a one woman business working for a labor of love. I also own my own business but know that customer service is king. Service in the wedding industry should be the gold standard and finding a review should not be what you need to make you act gracious to your potential customers.

Joey Del's 2001 CaterersI am looking forward to the food at our reception. We were able to get a taste of his wonderful food at a friend's wedding last year. He is hard to get and worth the price which is quite reasonable. I would recommend him to anyone.

Since today is the anniversary I thought I'd post some pictures of the flight 93 site we went to last yr. The new memorial was started after we had been there so these pics are of the temp. one. Thousands of people visit it daily. Dh and I had
gone to Johnstown for the bike rally that weekend and we stayed in Somerset, Pa. Shanksville is between them so we took a little side trip. What an errie feeling, driving threw the small country roads to get to this farmers field. Once you turn on
the long driveway and saw everything you get goosebumps and this weird feeling inside of you. If you never have been there, you really should go.

We are planning a wedding at FI's home church in CO, but then having a second reception (small, informal) in MO for some of my friends and family that cannot make the trip for the wedding.
I'm needing advice about how to handle invitations to the second reception. Do I include an insert in the original ceremony/reception invite, or mail a separate reception invite to those people invited to the second reception?
