Beautiful Cake, Great to work with

Linda was great to work with. She was extremely professional and it was obvious that she could do just about anything that we threw at her. After pouring over photos, designs and ideas, she did a great job creating our vision. The cake was very very good too. We came back from the honeymoon and ate it with every meal for a week. So good! Flawless experience. Thanks!

I cannot say enough amazing things about Kramer Entertainment! First of all, meeting Melissa and all (which was a lot since I had a ton of questions and ideas throughout) emails and conversations with her were above and beyond helpful! She is so amazing and so great with helping with your budget but really working with you to find out just what you need to have exactly what you are picturing for your wedding! Kramer Entertainment did our lighting and DJ service and just did the most fantastic job I could have ever imagined....actually I did imagine it and what we envisioned for our wedding and then Kramer came along and just took it beyond and made it even more beautiful (and somehow stayed with us on budget, super important) and then to top it off is one of the most amazing teams to work with....I mean to have a team surrounding you on your wedding day that is professional, kind beyond words and that you have complete confidence in....is what you really need and hope for!

Kramer was a HUGE part of how our wedding came together, the atmosphere and lighting and also the DJ...such important parts! Without the lighting the atmosphere wouldn't have been as magical and beautiful as it was that day....it was more beautiful than I could have ever have imagined it would turn out, Zach is an amazing artist! The pink uplighting on the tree everyone was calling it the "Avatar Tree", was gorgeous....all of the pictures from peoples cameras that I have seen so far are just insane looking with the lanterns, bistro lights and pink uplighting....Magical is really he best word to describe what Zach transformed the outdoor Pavilion into...WOW WOW WOW!!!!

Our DJ, Beau.....I mean he is just amazing! The ceremony and reception would not have been the same without him, he is just so great! He is very calming and such a kind man, he always seemed so at ease and at the same time just great at pumping the crowd up! And fantastic on the mic in directing the guests or giving information! His assistant Jeremy, he was just the happiest all smiles such an incredibly helpful guy! Every time he came over to let us know about something, he was so happy and had such a great energy! These guys, had it together and were great with all of our guests! We know we asked a lot of Beau with the songs and we had a special entrance for the guys and playing songs a certain times, but he was just amazing and really kept the party going all night and everyone was dancing the whole time! Exactly what I was hoping for! Kramer Entertainment every step of the way was incredibly professional, rocked the reception and did an outstanding job at every moment throughout the wedding!!! I can't imagine a better company with a better team! Just amazing!

When I picture the day, all I see is the insanely beautiful transformation of River Oaks done by Kramer and hear the perfect music playing and all of the guests, family and us smiling ear to ear with happiness and I cant tell you how thankful I am that you, Zach, Beau and all of the amazing helpers that are a part of your team were a HUGE part of our day and in making it the most beautiful wonderful day ever!

HUGE thank you to Kramer Entertainment!

The Country Club was an excellent choice for our wedding. A lot of our guests would be coming from out of town, and it was very important to us that we choose a site where we could have both our ceremony and reception. This spot was perfect for us!

The setting was beautiful (rolling hills, vineyards, a lake...), and the room for the reception was outfitted just right. We loved the comfortable chairs! No uncomfortable folding chairs for our guests!

Since it's a country club, we fully expected the pricing to be outrageous, but it was actually more reasonable/affordable than most of the other venues we looked at, and for us a much easier deal. We wouldn't have to worry about renting any supplies, finding a caterer, etc, which we had been dealing with with the first venue we booked. And, bonus, they have an event coordinator on staff!

The food was delicious! This was very important to my husband and I. We did not want any dry/gross/blegh wedding food served at our wedding. We wanted to really treat our guests, since the enjoyment of food is a big deal in our lives. We actually found that the food served at the wedding was even better than what we had at the tasting! And the appetizers we did get to enjoy (they brought us a tray - very nice!), were extremely tasty! I was a bit jealous of our guests since they got to enjoy more of them. They were even able to accommodate my special request for an appetizer not featured on their menu, and did an excellent job with it.

My only gripe was that communication could be a little slow at times. There were a few times I had to send follow up emails or call to get answers to questions I had sent in. I think the biggest lag was towards the end - in fact, I never did receive our final pricing requested two weeks before the wedding. My father in law ended up taking care of everything at the reception. My husband and I didn't want them to pay for certain things, so that was kind of disappointing to us.

But when I did meet/speak with Bill, he was always fantastic. You can tell he's been in the game for a while - he really knows his stuff. The rest of the staff were always wonderful, as well. Very polite, very professional, and they never acted too busy to help when we were setting up.

Overall, I would certainly recommend this venue! We had a wonderful wedding, and our guests had a fantastic time.

I met DJ Bob at a bridal fair in San Luis Obispo. I took my younger brother with me to find a DJ - he isn't a huge fan of people in general, so I figured if he likes someone, then they're going to be awesome.

As soon as we started talking to Bob, I just knew he was the one. I looked over to my brother, and my feeling was confirmed with a nod. This guys was just awesome right out the gate! Great sense of humor, yet professional (some of the other DJs we met at this same fair were putting down other pros - very uncool). He had lots of experience, and it just showed in how he talked about the events he's done in the past.

As the planning process went on, I swear every time I mentioned who my DJ was people would say something like, "wait, you booked DJ Bob? I LOVE DJ Bob!" The man has a reputation for awesomeness.

Meetings with Bob were great - he had great song suggestions when asked, and really took the time to feel out my (and my hubby's) musical style. He didn't even bat an eyelash when I requested Michael Bolton's "Can I Touch You There" (inside joke between the hubs and I).

But I think the thing I loved the most is that I just felt deep down that I could give no direction at all, and he would still do an amazing job. I knew that, with him, I didn't have to worry about a thing.

And I didn't - he was on time for the wedding, got my officiant and husband set up with lapel mics, prepped my bridal party for our entrance, and did an amazing job as our MC all night. I can't tell you how many times my husband and I looked at each other throughout the night and said, "man, I love DJ Bob."

I really could go on and on, but I think you get the point. If you want to make sure your guests have a great time on the dance floor, do yourself a favor and hire Bob.

Jonathan was absolutely wonderful to work with. He was the first vendor we booked, and definitely one of the best decisions we made for our wedding.

First there's communication: you can email him, call him, send him a message on facebook and he always responds, and quickly! It's so nice to work with a vendor that doesn't leave you hanging for weeks on end.

Second, there's personality. It is just so easy to relax around him, and for me, that's saying something. I freeze up as soon as a camera comes within 10 feet of me! Jonathan has a great sense of humor, and is very open and friendly. I actually got compliments from my guests and wedding party on how great he was!

And third, there's the work. Oh my goodness, but our pictures look amazing! He somehow managed to capture all of the details of the day (no idea how - I think maybe a clone?), and captured them beautifully. I cannot wait to make an album so that I can show off my pictures to family, friends, and possibly unsuspecting strangers.

“ YAY! We booked our venue! ”

After scouring the SF Bay Area and being very disappointed, we moved our wedding location to SLO.

It seems that every venue we really liked here was booked (Radonich Ranch, Sand Rock Farm, etc) or too expensive with annoying rules or time limits (Nestldown, Holman Ranch, etc).

Then we found Holland Ranch & Flying Caballos in San Luis Obispo. After going back and forth about cost and venues we picked Flying Caballos! I'm so excited. The venue fee is just as expensive as Nestldown but it includes 3 nights of accommodations for 22 people! Our families and closest friends will be able to have an awesome wedding weekend with us!

It was a tough choice because Holland Ranch is about $5k less expensive and has the most breathtaking ceremony area (I dream about it)... but it's also a bit more "cookie cutter" than we would like and SO couldn't handle the cowboy bar/blinged out barn. (Shh... I secretly loved it and wanted a mechanical bull)

But.. Flying Caballos has a "treehouse hot tub", huge fire pit, tiki torches, and will be a great setting for our rehearsal dinner complete with pinata and the backyard wedding that I dream of... mexican blankets, fire pits, string lights... ahhh... I'm so excited!!!!!!!

Oh and we had to change our date from September 7, 2012 to November 3, 2012 in order to get this venue. It's my mothers birthday and while we don't get a long so well, she said it's okay... my mother got married on her mother's birthday so I'm calling it tradition!

“ EYE CANDY: Wine Trolley Wedding ”

This is such a unique and fun idea.  A moving wedding on a wine trolley with each part of the wedding in a different location. The colors are gorgeous and the decor is amazing.

This is such a photo 2847353-1

This is such a photo 2847353-2

This is such a photo 2847353-3

San Luis Obispo held a special place in the couple’s hearts and made for a perfect launch pad for this “Wine Trolley Wedding”.  The weekend fun was started off with a welcome dinner. To keep things interesting we went a completely different design direction from the rustic/mod wedding to come and instead welcomed guests with a Latin style affair. Guests were served pitchers of mojitos, and traditional Brazilian appetizers. Fun dice games, and props were set at each table to serve as comical “ice breakers”for the events to come.

For the ceremony, we created a new site on a classic vineyard and incorporated an ancient oak to frame the vineyard setting. The bride made a grand entrance by walking through a suspended ruffled pergola placed at the beginning of the aisle way instead of the traditional placement at the end of it. Programs were printed directly onto brown paper lunch bags and filled with horns that said to “blow” and confetti that said to “throw”. Following the ceremony, the guests toasted the new couple that had their own colossal couture wine goblets, which served as their tasting cups for the day.

Back onto the trolley, the guests made their way to stop number two. On the trolley the guests were greeted with ‘Wine Notes’ notepads to record their favorite wines to order and stickers with funny wine related sayings. The second stop on the Wine Trolley express was at gorgeous winery where we treated the guests to an organic boxed lunch on tables decorated with apple baskets and rustic linens looking over rolling vineyard hills. Following lunch the guests were treated to a wine tasting and tour in the vineyards cellars and delightful game of bocce ball. Onto stop number three! For a comedic infused wine tasting at the third winery the guests were asked to wear wigs and silly hats in this carnival style fun house.

“ Photography ”

Hi!

I have been researching Photographers and I was wondering if anyone had any advice on what I should pay. The price ranges are pretty vast and I know you get what you pay for. I really have no Idea where to start. I have a quote from a High end Photographer i absolutely love, his work is well known its around $5000 for 10 hours of shooting, engagement photos, edited digital negatives, 300-600 finished 4x6 pictures and online printing.

Does anyone have any feedback on whether this is a good price or should I look elsewhere?

Thanks,

Courtney

Wrongful death San Luis Obispo cases have similar guidelines as normal injury cases have, but at any time when there is a death on account of someone else's negligence, it is always emotionally difficult for everybody concerned.

“ Ceremony ” by hatsari

I can't believe it is over. My wedding was on Oct. 20, 2007. It seems as if it happened a decade ago, though. NOw it is over and done with, I just wanted to put together a page to tell you ladies how I planned, prepared, and made it happen. I did not have much time to prepare for my wedding becuase my husband and I made the decision only four months prior to our wedding. Although it was hectic at times, we not only managed to have everything done in four months, but we also have done A LOT of things ourselves. This site helped me a lot during preparation. So I wanted to give it back somewhat by sharing my stories.

So first thing was to look for the site, of course. I knew I wanted an ourdoor wedding. Small, but intimate with 150 people at max. My ideal wedding would have been in the spacious backyard with friends and families celebrating with good food and drinks without being too glamourous or too expensive. Unfortunately, both of us or our parents did not have a house that could accomodate that many people. But I found the site that came pretty close to what I wanted.

Monday Club, San Luis Obispo, CA
MOnday club is a cute event place with a garden and a hall with complete kitchen. WHen I saw it, I knew I found the perfect place.

small bio photo

We now have a letterpress printing studio, Sugar Plum Invitations. It's located in San Luis Obispo, just north of Santa Barbra. It’s a creative outlet for design, printing and networking. We love our three vintage letterpresses! Each piece is handprinted, one color at a time!  We now have a wedding blog, "She Walks in Beauty".  It's super fun and I enjoy printing for Sugar Plum!
