David's Bridal Tallahassee was the worst bridal salon I have ever been to. I am a size 20 bride. The consultant (when I could FIND her) kept bringing me size 12 and 14 dresses to try on. I asked her to just bring me the size 20s because I needed to know what the dresses looked like fully zipped/buttoned up. I know they had size 20s in stock to try on because I went to the floor myself and picked out about 5-6 dresses before I went to the fitting rooms. After 45 minutes in the store and her only bringing me 2 dresses to to try on, my bridesmaids sensed the anger and took over. The consultant completely disappeared. When I finished trying on dresses and found 'The One', I couldn't find anyone to help me order it! I wound up buyin a David's Bridal dress used on eBay because I REFUSED to purchase a dress or any other accessory from them. I would NOT recommend David's Bridal Tallahassee to anyone.

Sondra was truly a God-send in the world of wedding planners. I could not have asked for a better wedding planner Sondra's level of experience and professionalism were very well received; and the fact that she stepped in at the last moment made the job she did more impressive. Working with her during the planning was a great experience and it made my wedding that much more wonderful for me as a bride. Sondra is a strong advocate for all brides that she works with and will never let you down. She always went above and beyond to make sure things were taken care of for me and my fiance. Having her there with us on the "day of" was a life saver, I don't know how we would have done it without her.
Thank you Sondra for making my day more perfect than I could have imagined.

Mark was great to work with. Not only did he take the regular pictures that he wanted to take, but he was willing to take any other pictures that you could think of. He came dressed properly and did an excellent job and was very professional. I would definitely recommend him.

Randy was great. Everyone had a great time and told me how they loved the DJ. He kept everyone on there feet. Very professional and didn't mind me e-mailing him every time I thought of something or thought of a song that I wanted played. I would definitely recommend him. He is definitely worth every penny and you will not be sorry.

I am not sure that words can even describe the poor service received from YEMS. We were told that yes, they had the things we needed (silver chargers & white chair covers) and all we needed to do was sign the contract. The contract was sent back for them to complete and sign. We never received it. Several e-mails/phone calls/text messages later, we find out that the business has been moving and did not have email access, which is understandable to some degree, but if you are running a business, you need to find alternative arrangements to ensure the business end of things is taken care of and not leave your customers hanging. I was promised a phone call back the day I finally spoke to her and never received one.

Our coordinators finally got in contact with them again several days later, and then they suddenly do not have enough chargers for our event. We were still in need of the white chair covers though, they kept saying they would send the contract over just for those. Nothing was ever received, this is a week before the wedding. Between myself and our awesome coordinators, we left many emails/voice mails/text messages trying to get in contact with this company and to this day 2 weeks after the wedding, no contact has been made by them.

I would NEVER suggest anyone use their services regardless of the fact that they are the lowest prices in town. There is definitely a REASON for it.

“ The Story of Us..... ” by soontobemrsanthony

Steve and I met while we were working at a restaurant in Tallahassee, Florida.  I was an undergraduate at Florida State University and he was taking a year off between undergrad and med school..... i was a waitress and he was the flirty bar tender.

One thing led to another and we began dating, then as i recall "he broke up w/ me for some other girl" which he is ashamed to admit.  Then another thing led to another fling for us and as he recalls "i broke up with him for some frat guy" which I am ashamed to admit!

Third times the charm!  Then in the summer of 2004 we began to hang out again and the inevitable sparks began to fly between us.  I went home with him one weekend and met his dad, brothers and sisters.  It was on our return trip to Tallahassee from his home that he asked me to drive out to California with him.  This is where he'd be going to med school for the next 4 years.  He suggested we make a road trip out of it and assured me it would be fun!

I called my parents asked them if I could ride across the county with a guy they'd never met and my dad said "Yes, you should see the country, great opportunity etc," grandma  said " NO" haha, but we talked her into it.

Steve and I set off from Tallahassee on July1, 2004 to California, we spent 30 days in his truck together seeing friends in different states, and enjoying all the sights of the country. Telluride,CO, Vegas, Jackson Hole, Park City, L.A, we truly enjoyed every minute.

The Friday before I was to fly home to go back to school, Steve got a call from a Med school in W. Virginia (a better school) and they offered him a seat in the class of 2008.  So we packed up the truck one more time, pulled out of the California Apt and headed BACK across the country.....

At an early point in our trip to California, we knew what was right and that we needed to be together, we've never lost that and to this day we know that we are made for each other.

“ ~A Little Video~ ” by GatorBride

Our DJ, Greg Tish of GT Entertainment in Tallahassee, FL, routinely records some footage of the weddings he works. He edited some of our film and put it together for us - we love it! He couldn't film much of the reception since it got too dark, but it's a nice little something to help us hold on to the memories...

“ *hOw We mEt* ” by June192010Bride

My name is Ashley and I'm getting married June 19, 2010 at my favorite place on earth: The Beach! Lido Beach, FL is the location of the ceremony and we will have our reception at the Sarasota Garden Club.  I'm so excited!  I met my fiance Reggie the summer I became a sophomore in college on a rainy day in Tallahassee, FL.  A friend and I were about to walk somewhere but couldn't because it was pouring outside.  Well my friend Rikkia called her friend (Reggie) to pick us up.  I got into the car, said hello and he dropped us off.  That's all I remember about our first meeting! But Reggie tells me he tried to get my attention by telling jokes but I didn't laugh at them (I laugh at all of his jokes now...he's the funniest person I know).  He said he was basically staring at me in his rear view mirror trying to get my attention but I wasn't paying him any attention.  Later he told his best friend that he'd met his wife! He called Rikkia and asked if she would give me his phone number.  Rikkia somehow convinced me to call him and the rest is history!

On Cloud 9 photo 1

Hello everyone! My name is LaToya Webster. I am from Tallahassee, Florida. I am finally getting married to my highschool sweetheart! I had to almost pull his teeth out in order for him to propose. I know it sounds kind of bad, but we have been dating for 10 years and it was time to either settle down or move on. We didn't want to do that, so he proposed! I was so shocked that he did it, I didn't respond right away! I said yes, and now I am in the middle of wedding planning! I am so glad that I found this website, because I have so many questions, issues and comments that I want to share with people who can relate to me. I only have one friend who is married, but I need some more different opinions about things. I look forward to hearing your comments and advice.

“ The theme/venues/plans ” by gingerly1983

We are going for a country/rustic/vintage/simple theme. We are aiming for 80 guests at most.  I wanted our wedding to have a lot of special/unique touches to make it more fit to us and not be a 'cookie cutter' wedding.  (I saw someone say that on Four Weddings and have resented it ever since! lol)  Soft reds and oranges, ivories, lots of burlap, mason jars, and twine. I'm doing a LOT of DIY stuff.  If I ever have time I'll upload pics. It seems I can only get on PW while at work, and I can't go to facebook to copy pics to here. Work computers block just about every website I try to go to. :(

Anyway...back to the theme of things...

We are having an outdoor ceremony and reception at my mom's home. The ceremony will be under a big oak tree. :) We rented a wrought iron arch and I have 10 wrought iron shephard hooks to line the aisles. I had poms made to hang on them that are in country patterned fabrics. I also had a swag made, but I'm not 100% in love with it. :/  I made a ton of mason jar lanterns to hang in the tree and will probably hang some on the arch as well. Still in the air about the final arch decor.  I rented chairs, bought white chair covers, and MADE a burlap sash for each and every one!!  OMG....that was a lot of work. My aisle runner is also burlap. :)

The reception will be under a barn. I bought lots of red and orange paper lanterns and we will have white Christmas lights as well.  I bought white table linens, made some 20" wide burlap runners, and made the centerpieces. I wrapped mason jars in twine and made orange/red floral arrangements. lol...I have pics at home!!!  I'll try to find time to upload some to my pages.

We are having the reception catered with soul food. :) I bought some nice plates because I didn't like the ones the caterer had lol  I also bought a bunch of mason jar drinking mugs (the ones with handles) to add to our country feel.  I bought some pumpkin orange linen napkins to put on the chargers.  Our chargers...  :)  ..my fave part. I bought 100 wood slices to use as chargers!  OHHH YEAH!  I found a guy on Craigslist who cuts wood and he agreed to give me a great deal on them.  So picture this...charger, then folded napkin, then favor on top of it. All the plates will be at the buffet.

We're going to have alcohol (2 signature cocktails), sweet tea, unsweet tea, and water. My friends and family would honestly be uncomfortable if we went with fancy food that you needed more than one utensil to eat.  We live in a tiny town, 45 minutes west of Tallahassee. Everyone here is southern, country type people.  I hate to say rednecks lol...but they are. My wedding will not be REDNECK and there will be no cans of Natural Light beer floating around!  It will be simple/country/rustic with a touch of elegance.  :)
