Anne Marie and The French Bouquet are by far the BEST floral designers! Once engaged I knew one thing: Florist- The French Bouquet. Their dedication to quality, detail, amazing one-on-one client service, determination to make sure your flowers are your dream, and their brilliant eye for design and knowledge of their industry is really unsurpassable! Choosing The French Bouquet is by far the best decision a bride can make when planning her wedding.

If you're budget-conscious The French Bouquet has a new sister company, Petite Fleur, that uses all local and organic flowers, and offers packages. Best of both worlds-- eco-friendly and budget-friendly! Either company you can't go wrong-- Anne Marie and her team are simply amazing at every design they touch! Love it!!! Love it!!!

Stay away from these people. They are awful! Please do not make the mistake I did when renting from these people. Never received my sample, no refund, no return phone calls, no answer as to why I never received my sample or refund. Do not give them any of your money!

We had Mike (DJ) and Nestor (MC). From our initial meeting with Mike, we liked this company because they were so organized and knew what they were doing. But I was still iffy because I had never heard any of their MCs or DJs (just a CD Mike had given us of some mixed music). The day of the wedding, I was happy to see that Mike ended up being our DJ. Nestor and him did the best job. The dance floor was always packed. They did go by the playlist we gave them and also went with the mood of the crowd and played a little bit of everything. I told them I wanted to be in a club and that's how it was. Nestor had the best MC voice and didn't say anything cheesy!!! And they gave me a CD of all the songs that I had picked to play at the wedding for the certain activities (bridal party intros, bride & groom intros, etc).

Matt Swaggart did my bridals at Houmas House plantation in Darrow, Louisiana, and I was so impressed with his professionalism and creativity. I got a "sneak peak" of pictures taken, but I cannot wait to see the final results of the photos he shot during our session.

“ Affordable Venues - Tulsa Area? ”

I'm new to the group and figured what better place to post since it my home state!!! I'm getting married May 19, 2012 and am looking for a one stop venue.  I'd like to keep my cost at or around 1200-1500.  I wanted outdoor ceremony/indoor reception, but the city parks have so many limitations on what you can do as far as sound, seating arrangements, etc.  If you have any ideas, I would greatly appreciate the input.  Thanks,

“ Greetings from Tulsa! ”

have been off the board for a while because this past month has just been a whirlwind!

I just wanted to touch base with you all and let you know that we made it to Tulsa. We departed San Jose a week ago, Thursday (May 29th) with the puggies and a U-Haul trailer towed by our CRV. We spent 14 hours on the road and ended in Flagstaff, AZ late Thursday night. The next day we drove 10 hours to Amarillo. Finally, on Saturday, after 6 more hours in the car, we arrived at our new home in Tulsa.

Anyway, we unpacked the trailer and settled in. Our new appliances were delivered and we feel into bed exhausted, but relieved that we made it all 1500 with no incidents. The next morning we awoke and continued to unpack. We set up our stereo system and found the local classical station (the dogs prefer classical music and it keeps them from barking at every little noise!). All of the sudden, there was an emergency broadcasting system alert. Not a TEST, but an actual alert! No sooner did it sound, as if on cue really, thunder and lightening cracked over our home and buckets of water began to poor down. 70-85 mile an hour winds whipped through our neighborhood, tearing limbs off 100 year+ old trees. It lasted about 20 minutes, but it was enough to send me into a panic. "Is this normal?" is all I could keep saying. Joseph phoned a friend from the opera who lives here and he assured us that, although not totally uncommon, that episode was a bit more than "normal".

Needlesstosay, as soon as it calmed down and we had sunny skies (only a couple of hours later) we headed to Target and stocked up on emergency supplies and fully outfitted our storm shelter, which in our home, is the interior hallway closet. There were more severe storms yesterday, but not nearly as fiece as the ones last Sunday.

Joseph returned to CA on Tuesday to finalize our relocation cubes, ship the Accord. finish stuff up at school and work. He will return in a couple of weeks, by plane, with our kitty. Until then, it's just me and the puggies here in Tulsa. I have a cousin who will be in town on business next week, so that will be good company. And once the wind/rain/hail settles down (apparently it "normally" ends in May) I will drive out to see my inlaws.

I've been blogging our experience, for any of you who may be interested:

“ Our Wedding ” by aubreylaine

My name is Aubrey and I get to marry my best friend, Benjamin, on September 12, 2009 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. We met while volunteering at a Christian home for troubled teens. We are having a relatively small wedding, we're expecting roughly 75 people.

The ceremony is at Kirk of the Hills, Benjamin's church. Although their sanctuary is huge and would look odd to have it in such a large place, so we are getting married in the chapel they have there instead so it will be more intimate.

Here is the church:

And the chapel:

The ceremony will be at The Glass Veranda, which is at a country club.

Our colors are chocolate brown, ivory & blush pink.

I get nervous to put pictures of my dress on here! Lol. But it is a beautiful Morilee. It was the first dress I tried on. It is an ivory, strapless, A-line dress with a chapel-length train.

I want my hair to look like this. I couldn't decide if I wanted it up or down, so decided the half up half down look was ideal for me.

“ A Little About Us ” by Leighanna

My name is Leighanna (obviusly) and I am hopefully graduating this May from UTD.  My fiance is name Colin, I call him Col. We met through a mutual friend while we were both living in Oklahoma.  He says I had him from the moment I agreed to play ping pong with him...

Col took a job in TV advertising that sent him to NY for 3-4 months.  We had continued to be friends from afar, Col not wanting to interfear if his buddy wanted anymore than a friendship from me...he didn't and I didnt' either.  So one day Col and I started a banter of me coming to see him in NY.  Not thinking I would he continued to call my bluff and I his by agreeing to come.

The last time Col had seen my my hair was down to the middle of my back, I cut it all off and it was like a boy cut. He opened the taxi when I got to his apartment in the Upper West Side of Manhattan.  He did a double take as he didnt' recognize me.

The rest is history as they say.  He left NY and moved back to Dallas and I was still in Tulsa. We did the long distance thing for a while then one day while he was up to see me he looked at me and said, "Darlin' I know that you've been up here in Oklahoma goin to school and experiencing life, but I miss you.  I'm ready for you to come home."

I had a dog that was over the 25lb weight limit that his HOA had set by 20lbs.  So he sold his condo for me and Kalie (the pooch).  He showed up with a UHaul and took all my stuff and I grabbed the dog and followed him home. At least once I looked at Kalie and asked, "What the heck are we doing? We should go back...but he has all my stuff."

He called my dad and asked permission and then asked me to marry him on March 22 of 09.  We planned for a wedding this September but due to my schooling and finances we are going to wait till next year.

My MIL found this site and I hope to get some good advice and make a few online friends.  I am excited about our new life together and I am excited about planning the whole thing.  Hopefully those of you who are saying vows before me can provide me with good advice and what not to do and what to look out for and what to not skimp on.  Congrats to all.

“ The Ring! ” by cbethmanning

Tim asked me to marry him on Friday night, June 25th.  We had reservations at Bodean's Seafood Restaurant in Tulsa.  We always reserve Friday night as our "eat out" night so we don't have to cook, etc.  But this was a bit unusual, we never go to a place as nice as this.  I told him to pick the place for that night, cause I had picked last time.  When we got there, the place was dark, white linen tablecloths, etc.  We sat in a booth, across from each other.  The waitress was attentive and so far, the wine and appetizer was superb.  Right before dinner came, Tim made the comments that once in a lifetime you fall in love with your soulmate, the person you want to spend the rest of your life with.  I know he said some other things but everything was all of a sudden a blur and then he pulled out the ring and asked me, Beth, will you marry me?  It was the most perfect moment, ever!  After our dinner came, the manager of the restaurant came over and gave us complimentary glasses of champagne and dessert.  It was the most amazing evening!
